Captain loophole this week?

Know there have been a few posts on this but confusion still reigns (at least for me)

If I put the VC on Ablett and he smashes it, I assume we can put the captain on a non-player from Sun/Mon games (e.g., Viney) , and a mid emergency score would still be counted? I'd hate to put the C on Viney and miss a good emergency score or, even worse, get 2 x zero...

Any help appreciated from those that understanding what the rules are

Put the C on a bye player, set a sun/mon game as emergency.  If Gary smashes it, leave as is.  If not move the C to your next choice and swap out the bye player (you could even leave him if the E is set correctly) - just make sure you move the C

Thanks mate. My fear is the "C" button will be removed from bye players on the field when the round starts, so you can't use them as the captain if Gazza goes large. Hence the need for a non-player (e.g., Viney). Let's see.

yeah im abit worry as well not sure to put the C on a by player might go safe put the VC on Stevey J if he goes big then put the C on Lonergan since the Suns are playin this week and hav an emg for him

Non playing players are not locked out same as any other week

Something is worrying me...
I'll try explain.
What if you want to go your VC score. So you whack the C on a non-player (bye or other) and have the emergency set on the bench. Say your emergency scores 100. What if the system only see's that the player on field got zero but wont count the emergency score because the zero is lower than the scores from 18 other players?
Did I make sense?
Am I being silly?
Its this '18 highest scores' thing that is causing me some concern.. :o

You must have 18 players on the field scoring so no use leaving them on the emergency bench. Surely you do not have all 22 playing so there must be a non playing bye player somewhere to put the C on.

Ablett VC, Pendles C and Viney on bench as emergency.
If Ablett fails leave as is.
If Ablett tears it up bring Viney on as C (to get Ablett's double score) and switch Pendles to emergency who will score as normal provided he is in your top 18 scores which he will be.
It's what I'm doing and after reading the rules believe it will work.

Just did a check on SC and all bye players still have C available for loop hole.  Expected it but wanted to make sure

So just to get things straight, even if one of your top eighteen scorers is an emerg, you will get his score, even if you've got eighteen on the field?

No. They must come on to the field as an emergency to get their score as usual. if they are one of your 18 top scorers on the field you will get their points.

LOL, stupid me.. It was a silly question after all.
Yes, I'm only scraping through this week with 18 playing (HOPEFULLY), so have 4 players I can whack the C on. Which means no need to do it like a normal round and have emergency cover.... right?

So are we 100% sure sticking the C on a bye player will get double VC points...?
