It's rubbish, takes all the skill away, the mugs used to burn trades! Now u can do what ever u like who cares u still have two Nek week!
+1

Yes now all the shower players who make stupid selections (e.g. JPK & Dangerfield) can just reverse it instead of in the glory days when they would be held at a disadvantage (either less trades or keep a shower player). No skill involved at all. Anyone who trades out any of their premium selections are shower in my books and I have no respect for them as a dream teamer... I chose GAJ, Swan, Cotchin, Pendles & Fyfe because I have a brain and knew what to expect not some bust ass player whose never been good and never will and just imagined that they would score well. Seriously be realistic people and maybe you would be better and make logical selections. So far the only player to prove me wrong has been Swallow and I think he can keep it up and Redden and I think he'll come back and prove me right about him again

I thought Swallow wouldn't push a 100+ average (still a year to prove me right)
I thought Redden would average 105-110 (same case as Swallow)
and I think I'll still be semi right about Murph's (predicted 110+ average now I'm think 105)

I think most good teams will find it too many trades in a couple of weeks time. Once no rookies are on the bubble it'll be hard to justify a lot of trades, they'll just be for the sake of making one. But once resting, injuries and suspensions kick in, we'll probably be asking for 3 trades a week! That said, I don't think teams will be as comfortable resting players against GWS and in particular Gold Coast this year... could get rolled!

Another thing about the bounty of trades this season is the fact that you can look at anyone's team in DT. If you're up against a good opponent and they have someone who's worrying you, you can easily trade them in to completely negate that player's score.

If you have so many trades, you shouldn't be able to look at other people's teams until lockout, and then only the team you're playing against. That would certainly reduce the number of cookie cutter teams.

Also Melbourne are really flowering things up at the moment. Next week I'm going in against someone who's averaged 1,645 but he has 8 eagles players on his team. Obviously a complete mug but this may be the only week where it pays off for him. (Not really related but felt like having a vent)

Assistant Coach gives away the stats on the most popular trades and everything else though, so for $20 you'd have pretty much the same problem.

30 trades was a perfect balance, when that was being assumed as the go for DT this year I was excited. 44 has taken away the trade conservation side of the game completely and was too big a change too quickly.

I like that. 25-30 trades will be enough to keep the average DTer involved for most the season and still benefits those with the skill to preserve trades

I understand why people don't like it, but unfortunately we can't change it so we just need to embrace it. I also think it adds a whole new element to the game like fixture trading and the fact that if you have picked a few duds in your team you can just trade them out and not worry about running out of trades. I also don't agree that it makes the game easier because your team is never finished because the best 22 will change every week.

nostradamus

it is what it is and you have to make the most of it.

At first l absolutely hated the change, and would probably prefer it be set-up more like SC, but instead of taking my bat and ball home l've decided to use it to my advantage.

l agree that it gives bad DTers a leg up, but hey their not really a threat regardless how much help they get, they'll always make dodgey decisions no matter what.

Personally l'm maniulating it to make extra cash from bubble trades and will all through the season, l'm already finding that my teams is going to take shape quicker because of it.......while still having the cashcows there ready to cull when the times right

Just out of interest, do you reckon it would be better if we had 44 trades but could use as many of them as we wanted per week (until we ran out). Could keep the noobs happy but would also bring back trade management and would add in an extra element to the game.

bundyboy

always hated mid way through the season when trades were low and you had to have done all your homework right .... but now the excitement/tension all really gone....

really makes the competiton much less interesting imo -

backward step I recon, and will definitely lose serious FF players to Supercoach..

On one hand I like it because you can fix things like this week bringing in better cash cows, trading injured players or dropping a failed pick like Karny or Harper without worrying about using all your trades up.

On the other hand I'd rather use my trades when I need/want to and not feel like I have to use them because if I don't I lose them.
