No surprise with Rowe not playing, I have been saying it all week. Unless Hampson or Casboult don't play he was not getting a game. Petterd had to push Batchelor out of the team which he didn't. Sucks for my team considering I was hoping Petterd will get named. Probably switch him to Byrnes now.

What the big shocks for me from a team perspective, no Laidler and Curnow. It is not a coincidence Carlton collapsed when Laidler got injured. He sets up the back line and zones off his man exceptionally well. Curnow is a great grunt player as well. Easily ahead of Joseph and Bootsma

Round 1 is all about shock selections both ways just wait and see .

Agreed. Think back to a few years back when Ratten named Garlett, Joseph and Jacobs for the round 1 Richmond game. Collingwood have also named rookies who no one expected over the years.

I still do not agree with the Ladiler omission as a Carlton supporter on a team level.
