If you go on WAFL form Mitchell has Stevens measure.
Stevens was traded to the dogs because they had a role for him to play, Port drafted Mitchell as a rookie listed player as back up. If you look at it that way, Mitchell has been elevated to cover Salter, when he Salter returns he will be put back on rookie list. If Mitchell is in and out of team he probably wont generate enough cash for you, whereas if Stevens is in and out of team, at least you have the comfort of knowing he is going to play again, be it later on in the season, at least he will still be generating cash, if that makes sense.
Rookies take about 8 weeks to peak out, in 8 weeks time Mitchell will probably be back on rookie list.
