Last pick for my team.

Please help.

Missed the Duff Express.

Waters gone under the bridge too.  ::)

Got Goddard and Gibbs.

Don't want Shaw.

Colliwobblers

you strike me as the set and forget type, i know you start ablett and franlin, you like a sure thing - so Hanley.

Hartlett has the potential to exceed hanley scoring but also the potential to fail and get injured?

Hanley trained with the midfield group all preseason seems to have some time on the wing ahead of him, if not in the midfield (let's be realistic - every player in the AFL is reported to get midfield time in the AFL pre-season) happens every season. But hanley should play off half back and on the wing and be a genuine chance to slightly improve on last seasons average which would make him a keeper and risk free.

Passed on the Duff too.

Colliwob is correct. 'Play it Safe' with Hanley or 'Go for Gold' with Hartlett.

Both for me :)

Converted

I've gone Hanley as i think he will improve his average due to a combination of these four factors

1. Natural progression
2. Improving Brisbane side
3. Increased midfield time has been promised
4. Easy draw for the Lions in 2013 - Hanley scores traditionally well against weaker opposition.

If this doesn't convince you, Hanley's durability > Hartlett.

Sabretooth Tigers

 :(
For all the reasons stated above in support of Hanley I am taking Hartlett. I'd rather take the risk of the higher ceiling at the beginning of the season, especially if the majority of coaches are playing safe.        :o

Hanley all day, every day. Why take a player who almost guarantees you a rookie score/donut for 6 rounds or a sideways trade?Hanley hasn't missed a game since breaking into the Lions outfit, Hartlett hasn't played more than 16 in a season. I also think Hanley's ceiling is pretty good too.

I am going to laugh my tits off when coaches are short of trades late in the season because they took risky players to start with. I don't mind rolling the dice on a Hartlett/Shaw type for he finals but to take them from the start is SC suicide IMO.

That's what 'they' said about Adcock 2011 ... :P

I relate them both highly and I would love to have both in, but with amount of good defender rookies, you have to load your backline with rookies so you can only pick one. I reckon Hartlett may score better than Hanley, but Hanley is a safer pick as he's more durable. Up to yo, if you think you need to take a risk go with Hartett but if you want to play it safe go with Hanley

pikla

I like Hanley but would 5 brisbane players (Hanley, Zorko, Rocky, Burger, Karnezis) be too much?

Thanks to those whon commented.

In the ideal world (one chock full of forward rookies with good JS and scoring potential) I would get both 'aitches.

In this forlorn land, bereft of forward rookies, I will pick one.

You say Hanley, so the Lion it will be. And that is lucky because I am a Leo!  ::)

Will pick Hanley so I can risk a couple of things elsewhere.

Cheers and good luck.

Ringo

Hanley Averaged 90.7 last year from 22 games and Hartlett 91.4 from 15 games.

Which out of the 2 will increase their output more this year.
As has been said Hanley was training with the midfield group and played the NAB cup in this position.  However with the season proper can see him and Rich rotating a bit running off half back.  Hanley's disposal and kicking continues to improve which will also increase his scoring. Since Breaking into Lions team in 2010 has not missed a game through injury.  Hanley has increased SC scoring each year and if he increases again this year will finish Top 10 defenders,
Hartlett has missed 13 games over the last 2 seasons.  SC Score has been constant for the last 2 years so has he reached his ceiling?

So based on this analysis safe option Hanley.

For every one success I can find you 10 failures! :)

Ringo, I think you summed it up perfectly
