I am thinking Petterd just because he is cheaper. No other reason.


But some other things I have noticed. Since Varcoe did not set the world on fire this preseason I went back and had a look at his scores. He would have 33 touches some games and still score under 100 and was playing in the middle those games where he did rack up the scores and the pill. His other big games he kicked bags of goals. If they want to play him off the back flank, I don't like it for his scoring. With the way Geelong rotate players as well he could be the sub or not play as they try to ease him back in. Petterd played up forward in his best seasons scoring but has looked to slot nicely on the back flank for the Tigers. It will also allow them to push Newman up the field. Worst case they can swing him forward where he has proven he can play well in a crappy Melbourne team.
