THE GREAT DANE

Cash Left: 41,000

Backs: B. Goddard (501k), B. Gibbs (473k), D. Heppell (439k), J. Pittard (132k), B. Goodes (121k), L. Stevenson (108k), <N. Vlaustin (147k), D. Terlich (102k)>

Predicted average: Goddard 100+, Gibbs 100+, Heppell 95+, Pittard 73+, Goodes 73+, Stevenson 65+, Vlaustin 65+, Terlich 65+

As you can see, my backline is probably the most popular backline for DreamTeam at the moment. I'm happy with my premiums (Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell), and because the defence rookies are the best out of every position, I've loaded up with 5 of them: Pittard, Goodes, Stevenson, Vlaustin and Terlich.

Midfield: D. Swan (688k), G. Ablett (642k), M. Boyd (593k), S. Pendlebury (568k), J. Kennedy (523k), L. Whitfield (183k), O. Wines (156k), O'Meara (108k) <K. Mitchell (119k), M. Jones (102k)>

Predicted average: Swan 125+, Ablett 117+, Boyd 115+, Pendlebury 115+, Kennedy 107+, Whitfield 78+, Wines 75+, O'Meara 75+, Mitchell 70+, Jones 70+

I'm fairly happy with my mids and I've loaded up because midfielders obviously score the most points and are the hardest to upgrade because they cost the most. Swan and Ablett are locks every year, like Boyd for his consistency, Pendlebury should explode this year and is a popular pick, Kennedy is a unique-ish player who's had a perfect pre-season and looks set for another good year, Whitfield has impressed during the NAB Cup and should average around 80 with good job security, Wines has had a good NAB Cup and has a body built for AFL, O'Meara is a gun and a very popular pick, Mitchell should be pretty good, and I've gone for Jack Viney for his good job security.

Rucks: D. Cox (512k), Z. Smith (300k) <D. Currie (102k), M. Blicavs (108k)>

Predicted averages: Cox 100+, Smith 80+, Currie 60+, Blicavs 50+

I've got Cox as the premium and Zac Smith as a mid-priced unique pick, but if Matthew Leunberger is named for Round 1 I will trade Smith to him. Everyone has Currie and I've gone for Blicavs because he will get games early this season because of Geelong's thin ruck stocks at the moment.

Forwards: J. Bartel (492k), D. Zorko (487k), T. Rockliff (481k), P. Karnezis (238k), T. Varcoe (234k), B. Maccaffer (132k) <J. Patton (183k), S. Rowe (108k)>

Predicted averages: Bartel 95+, Zorko 95+, Rockliff 100+, Karnezis 80+, Varcoe 70+, Maccaffer 65+, Patton 55+, Rowe 60+

I'm not too sure about my forward line. I've gone for Bartel for his consistency and I think he is ripe for another big season, Zorko should be good again this year, Rockliff is a lock as an under-priced premium, everyone has Karnezis at the moment, Varcoe should average above 70 and play some good footy this season, Maccaffer is the only decent forward rookie, I picked Patton plainly because of his job security and he should score OK, and Sam Rowe should get some games and he will be good to link up with Dean Cox as a FWD/RUCK.

Thanks for reading about my team, any advice is much appreciated and a rate /10.
Questions: Is Patton too expensive? Is it OK to have 3 Lions in my forwards? What would you rate my team /10?

truBLUE

nice team dtfreak  , think either viney,or jones wont make alot of differnce to a benchie i have jones others have viney so ithink either one really , if patton is on the bench ,then i say yes too much money wasted to sit on the bench would get in neade and use cash in upgrading varcoe ? , 3 lions players in fwds are the norm at moment due to their early draw   :)

korza

One of the best teams i've seen....

If i were to be critical Patton on the bench with $185k is to rich.

9/10

Who would you go for instead of Patton then Korza? Spangher? And what would I do with the extra cash?

Thanks TruBlue, I've decided to go for Jones instead because I figured that he has the same job security as Jack Viney and better scoring potential.
