On a side note, has everyone whose gotten on the Lewis Stevenson bandwagon actually watched the Melboure match on the weekend? It wasn't televised however there's a single cam recording on the port adelaide website.

He wasn't that impressive; two goals were scored due to his clangers - one thing which may well not hold him in good stead looking forward as skills were the main focus this preseason.

You could use the rucks for the captain loophole.

I'm not sure why you mentioned Colquhoun and Shiel in the same sentence. Shiel is a big bodied, contested ball winning beast who had been with GWS for more than a year prior to his debut. Colq is a clever, running half back with elite foot skills but he is built like a twig. I can't see him getting enough games to rise at Shiel-like similarities.

Forward rookies are rare indeed but Daniher should get some games. What I would suggest doing is downgrading Moloney to Wines (Shiel-like) and getting in a decent forward so you aren't relying on Caff at F6. Move him to the bench and get rid of Kerridge.

Toby was the 8th best player in the league for average disposals. Due to his poor disposal, to get to 110+ he'll have to become number 1 average possessions and he won't do it in year 2. He had the 3rd most clangers per game which means he's a DT option, not SC.

Giles is a different story. He has a taste for a goal now and I can see him pushing into the top 4 rucks.

Keep Danger in every version of your team that you make between now and round 1. He will challenge for top spot this year.

Mar de Grises > Kvelertak in 2010.

Quote from: Millhouse on March 07, 2013, 12:38:27 AMI also like Colquohoun in the midfield; he's well priced and will have constant growth throughout the season; perhaps a cost projection similar to Shiel last season; giving time to trade when a Sam Gibson of 2013 plays - that's the plan!

I mentioned Shiel and Colquhoun in the same sentence in terms of holding value in the post bye rounds. Colquhoun ought to get lots of gametime and I think will score well - there's not enough hard bodies at Alberton regardless.

I like Moloney, I think he'll prove to be more consistent than Wines; at worst I may not even trade Moloney; he'd be the worst midfielder.
If, I was to downgrade and get a more viable forward option I'd pick Kennedy (WCE) - however I think having both Wright & Martin  and a rookie is a risk worth trying and will have greater scoring potential. I do like Kennedy, he played well against port sometime in the few rounds against Port at AAMI and I was really impressed. however, I'd much rather keep Moloney, save the trades.
But I will reconsider soon, I quite like your idea the more I think about it

rightio. good looking/solid team

DEF - 4 decent premos 3 players in the byes maybe interesting..

MIDS - pretty good. just wondering if you really want Shuey and Bennell in your finished mids as premos where you could have a Beams/Watson/JPK etc?? Fyfe should be fine

RUCKS - Giles should be as good as last year. Bellchambers has big wraps.. You could put Roughy in the ruck to make Rowe useful..

FWDS - decent. 3 Brisy players could be interesting if it goes tits up, up there.. keep that in mind. Like the Lewis pick although I don't think he'll avg more then 95

prety good team..

I'd love to have JPK - had him last year and he'll be fantastic this year! - just don't have the funds; 10k left!

I like having two ruck swings - depending on the nature of the need to swap - Rowe may be good enough if there's a 2 week injury without ruining all structure.
I'm slightly worried about the longlivity of three Lions forwards; I don't think, given how they've approached the preseason to be 100% fit with fatigue being an issue
