What are peoples thoughts on Newman for this season?

Dont think he will improve much on last year

He's cheapish and will play off a wing for most of the year and should rack up higher scorers.
He also doesn't have the pressure of being captain anymore.

Do you think he is a good step up for a premium player?

Gonna be used by Richmond up-field to try and improve our ball use going into forward 50, therefore everyone will look for either him or Deledio to kick into the 50. Possibly a good stepping stone as you say to a premium.

Yeah, look at some of his averages from previous years:

With a new role and now not being the captain I can see Newman increase his average.

Will avg 90+ not quite enough for me to have at D3 so I cant fit him in but if I was having a different structure than just 3 premium defenders then he would be my D4

Considering him for D4, but currently have Heppell after the big write up about him.

Might sideways to him in rnd 3 depending on how my backline fares, and what he is pumping out.
