speeling police i know it should be PsOD but it doesn't read well. anyway...

was just wondering why all you guys going for overall load up your teams with essentially the same (and "best") players. surely the trend for winning the big show is to have one, two or more bolts from the blue, or perhaps have one or two "locks" not in your starting team?

if i were going for overall i'd consider some freaky shower. something along the lines of not starting goddard/gibbs down back, ablett/pendles in the middle, franklin fwd etc etc. sure it'll fail a lot of the time and prob make it tough for you to crack the top 1000, but who really cares about that compared to a potential winning jump over the regular pack?

GoLions

Only pick rookies. Works 60% of the time, every time.  ;)

But seriously, I think I'd have to agree with you. I'm personally not going for overall, but if I was I don't think I'd pick Goddard, Ablett, or Buddy. Would still have Gibbs and Pendles, but the money saved from not taking the others could essentially mean 1 or 2 more premiums at least, depending on how many breakout/underpriced players you pick (i.e. Mundy, Rich, Hannebery, Yarran, Newman, Dusty, Griffin[freo and dogs]).

Big Mac

It's a good idea to have a few PODs, but the big part of winning overall is how well you trade. My rule on PODs is not to have a POD, just for the sake of having a POD. If you genuinely think they can be a better scorer than others in their price range, then go for it, but otherwise don't.

Colliwobblers

BigMac nailed it, i reckon the best bet is the tried and tested premiums with the most likely to gun it and play rooks. nothing else.

risky to pick a midpricer but get the right one and it is an advantage...

the key is trading, getting on and getting off players at the precise and best time will get you the biggest advantage, and also there is much to be gained by having your bye structure sorted out. i gained a lot of ranks during those three rounds last season, and by a lot i mean thousands, which shows how shower i was doing before the byes :)

but that's not my point  :-\
