Premo Mids that are difficult to tag

Hey all,

Just a thought. Is anyone looking at the theory of picking only the gun mids that difficult to tag.
I have been looking at pendles, Murphy etc. as good value but realistically a hard tag from the likes of Crowley or someone similiar these guys may struggle. JPK, Dangerfield, Swan, Ablett however who are all hard at it mids rarely get tagged out of the game as they actually go get their own ball.

I currently have Ablett, Swan, Pendles, Murphy in my mids but deciding whether to pay the extra and get the hard at it guns.

Thoughts?

I agree that Murphy & Pendles can be susecptable to a good tight tag. I think it happened once to each last year, can't remember the taggers. Actually I think it was Carrazzo that done a number on Pendles. Also, I reckon Jobe has to be included in a list of difficult to tag premo mids.

They may cop a tag but they will still dominate the year. Have to start Pendles imo, and Marc is underpriced and right up there with the rest

If you are going to go down that path, then you'd want to go one step further and exclude further based on teams playing against Crowly/Carrots/etc more than once this season also :P

Yep of course mate. I'll give you a few names - Ablett,Watson,Cotchin,JPK,Dangerfield,Swan,Pendlebury. Pendles has been beaten soundly only once that I've ever seen and that was vs Carrots last year 2nd game.

Yeah to say that Pendlebury can't handle a tag is a bit of a cop-out! He moves brilliantly through traffic, evades the tag just about every week, and SC-wise has dominated the past few years...

2012: Went below 100 only 3 times.
2011: Once. (Scored 94 when tagged by Gibbs)

So in the space of 40 H&A games, he has dropped below 100 only 4 times.

In that same time, the little master GAJ has gone under 100 6 times; does anyone question his ability to break a tag? His consistency?

It's all about the averages. If Pendles does get tagged out one week and (only!!) scores 85, then you can still be content knowing that he'll go on to average 130ish for the season.

Pendles is much safer pick than JPK and Danger in my opinion. The 4 mids you have currently are great options slammer.
