Ok, in the wake of culling Berger, here is the side:

Obviously dependent on my set of rookies playing round 1, and I'm a little concerned that I have 5 port rooks... But assuming they will start to have been cashed in by then. If the back rooks are in doubt round 1 then I would likely drop Swan for some cash, probably to Moloney, and bring in Yarran at D4.

Thoughts?

Solid side here Kiwi,

I would not contemplate downgrading Swan just because selected rookies not playing. Just look at other rookies who will play eg in defence after early doubts Docherty will more than likely make round 1 given improved form in last 2 NAB Cup matches.  Reasonable alternatives are available.

See your team as having 12 prem keepers plus Mundy who may be a keeper so solid,  Bye Friendly as well.

All the best as I would sit on this team and finalise when Round 1 teams named.

Going for a new tactic with the news Berger might be ok round 1...

F: Buddy, Cox, Rockliff, JJK, Varcoe, Karnezis (Byrnes, Macaffer)

Now, I know I have a mid-pricer stacked forward line and that having Byrnes on the bench is money I could spend elsewhere but, hear me out:
Rookie fwds all seem like very unsure options, whereas I'm pretty sure all the guys in that forward line will get a regular gig and go up in price. Berger is a risk but if he cracks I can move Cox into the rucks using Rowe's DPP, and that still leaves Macaffer and Byrnes which could play on the field - quite a few people have Byrnes in F5/6 anyway so he's not a bad choice. Or if Berger goes well then I have another money maker (hopefully).
I count 11 keepers, plus potentially Mundy and Berger.
