Hi All

After your thoughts on this team im toying with. Last year defenders seemed to be the lowest scoring line and I see the safest rookies coming from there this year.

DEF: N vlaustin,B Goodes, J Pittard, D terlich, C Heath, S Docherty, L Stevenson, S Colquhoun
MID: G Ablett, S Pendlebury,D Beams, JPK,P Dangerfield, T Cotchin, J O'meara, K Stevens, O wines, B Crouch
RUCK: Cox, P Ryder, D Currie, S Rowe
FWD: L Franklin, J roughead, D Zorko, M Wright, T Varcoe, P Karnezis, T Lee, B Macaffer

Very very interesting tactic!

IMO you have to have at least a couple of prems, even in defence as that will end up costing you league games if you're going for league.

If going for overall it could be a bit tough as you may be facing some doughnuts throughout the year in defence as it's unlikely that all those rookies will play 20+ games.

Gutsy. Not sure I could go through with it although I'm going with Ablett and a 9 rookie midfield in Sportal just for an experiment.
This team could work and would be interesting to see how you finish the season.

Put simply, it would not work.

I'd liken your defence to apples, a few apples are good- but 8 in one day is too many.  Too much of anything is bad.  You have too much defense rookies.  You're missing out on gun locks goddard and gibbs- which will only hurt you.

Also, with that surplus in cash you have, you're not taking a punt on many mid-priced options who could excel this year- you're also not fully utilising the great rookie mids on offer.

I don't expect any of your defenders to play above 20 games- nor average more than 75.  Which is why these players should be rotated in and out of your side off the bench, not anchoring your defence.

I don't even really see the point of this post tbh, you won't even start with this team anyway unless you're on something.

OTT IMO.

Why not just grab the top 2 defenders, who could easily average 105 - 110 and fill up with rookies. Soon you'll be able to upgrade without exposing yourself to the inevitable 40's and 50's they'll trot out at times.

Offload one of your round 13 mid guns and grab another rookie here.

My main issue is that you only have 11 1/2 keepers with a real chance you'll score poorly for at least 8 rounds until you cash in some cows.

Dare you to try it.

Appreciate the feedback but would like to make a point about what ive seen so far...everyone keeps raving about the midfield rookies but i have my doubts..crouch ok but vest is a possibility, omeara good yesterday but in a losing team mostly, viney has been average, kane mitchell 50% disposal efficiency and i would say only omeara has JS...if i put in say goddard and gibbs who seem to struggle to hit 110 I would have to replace maybe danger and cotchin who have a higher ceiling. My thoughts are that initially everyone will have to field 8 - 10 rookies why not have them in traditionally the lowest scoring line and field premiums in the higher scoring lines. I'm not saying it is a safe option, more horses for courses from whats impressed me so far

Sure but, look arnthendef rookies' scores yesterday as an example of what you'll get.

Also, there was a poll regarding how many rookies are starting and most responded with 5 - 7 only.

Usually if you are way out from the pack, you struggle to keep up because risk v reward gets too extreme.

Good luck.

Koby Stevens, Ollie Wines, Brad Hill, Jesse Lonergan, O'Meara, Crouch and Viney.
They are my 6 midfield rookies and I am quite comfortable with it
