Guns and Rookies is a preferred strategy because you get to pick consistent high scorers and people who if they play are GUARANTEED to make money. Taking this many midpricers into round one is a huge risk because as every midpricer has an opportunity to make money they have the same ability to haemorrage money. So for this strategy to work you need all your midpricers to pay off because even at a 50/50 success rate with your picks you wont get anywhere.

So thats my take on your strategy, as far as your team goes the mid price players you've picked are pretty good candidates, i would also look at other players who are undervalued due to injury last year such as Fyfe/Mundy.

I think you are at least 2 gun middfielders. Too nany mid price players and rookies in your mids

You have at least 11 really iffy selections.

As stated previously, even if half work for you, you'll end up even rather than in the red.

Most high scoring AND money making set ups have a more polarised selection philosophy which emphasises half premiums (who are very likely to score well) and half well selected rookies (who just need games to make a lot of money for you).

If you stick to your selections, let us know how you go because then we can say we told you so.

Where to start with this team - Going Heavy in Defence and Forward but weak in mids.

Def:  You have 4 of your defenders with Round 13 bye although Yarran may be gone,
Mids: Only 2 Prems with both having the Round 11 byes - Varcoe and Vlastin I assume are to allow DPP movement to strengthen mid field as required. Varcoe and Vlastin will not make as much as other mid rookies though.
Rucks: Solid combination here
Fwds: 3 West Coast forwards a risk.

You will have a lot of work to do to upgrade and get ready for byes.

I only see 11 keepers here (and this includes the risky selection of Berger and Watts) so you will use at least 22 trades upgrading not leaving a lot for injuries etc,
