My fourth draft for the year. The biggest problem I have with it is no real uniques and no real risk taking (excepting Martin and Grimes). A basic guns and rookies team

Def: Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Grimes, Terlich, Pittard (Docherty, B. Goodes)
Mid: Ablett, JP Kennedy, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Wines, O'Meara, Menzel, Viney (K. Mitchell, N Vlastuin)
Ruc: Ryder, Leuenberger (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Martin, Varcoe, Macaffer (Lee, Staker)

Also your thoughts on Grimes vs. Hanley vs. Hartlett.

the captain

Good team overall, good structure and everything. Personally not a fan of Ryder due to his inconsistency, but if you're prepared to ride that, then keep him.

On the Grimes/Hanley/Hartlett I don't see to much difference, Hartlett might be the one to improve, but at D4 any of them would be good.

Ringo

Nice Team - No comments on rookies.

Def: Sound -
Mids: Only 4 prems - just a slight risk with having to have 4 rooks play each week.
Rucks: Sound
Forwards no issues here either

Suggestion use Yarran at D4 and upgrade one of your rookie mids to Ball or mid prem you can afford.

Rate Team 7.5/10

Back Very Strong 4 premiums just need to watch how the rookies go in the NAB Cup.
Mids You have gone for the supercoach Paige strategy of 4 Premiums & 4 rookies on the field could pay off with the right rookies.
Rucks I don't think Ryder is a good option as Bellchambers will be doing alot of Ruck work this year Goldstein is a better Option.
Fwds No Problems here although may have a slow start with the Contract issue.

I give your team an 8/10

agreed. i think he will score well early and rise in price very quickly then a quick upgrade to a 5th Premo.

agreed, you dont even have to go Goldy (though its a good choice, but i'd personally get Roughie.)

Updated team

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Grimes, Terlich, Pittard (Docherty, B. Goodes)
Mid: Ablett, JP Kennedy, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Ball, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (K. Mitchell, N Vlastuin)
Ruc: Goldstein, Leuenberger (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: Cox, Roughhead Rockliff, Martin, Varcoe, Macaffer (Lee, Staker)

Duffield replaces Shaw
Ball replaces T. Menzel
Goldstein replaces Ryder
Roughhead replaces Franklin.

I took the Luke Ball advice but I managed to find ~150k elsewhere. Not too keen on dropping Franklin for Roughy (although FWD/RUC DPP is handy) so i'll update this again soon I'm guessing.

Since I can't leave it alone, can someone take a look at this team too and tell me which of the three is the best?

Latest update (#3):

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Grimes, L. Brown, Terlich, Pittard (Docherty, J. Thurlow)
Mid: Ablett, JP Kennedy, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Murphy, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (T. Mitchell, B. Crouch)
Ruc: Roughhead, Leuenberger (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: Cox, Franklin, Rockliff, Martin, Varcoe, Macaffer (Lee, Staker)

Team 2 for me

I would also with team 2 move Roughead to Ruck in place of Goldstein  and get another prem forward you can afford.  Not sure if you have cash left with this team but you should be able to afford anyone from around $510k down,

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Grimes, Birchall, Terlich, Pittard (Docherty, J. Thurlow)
Mid: Ablett, JP Kennedy, Pendlebury, Cotchin, Ball, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (T. Mitchell, B. Crouch)
Ruc: Roughhead, Leuenberger (Rowe, Currie)
Fwd: Cox, Walker, Rockliff, Martin, Varcoe, Macaffer (Lee, Staker)

I took in what you said and swapped Roughhead in the FWDs for Walker however I had to cut some cash out of the listed rookies. Since rookie positions are purely speculative at the moment, I'm a little worried that the rookies I need for round 1 will be out of my reach with this structure.

Ringo

No worries as team will be tweaked when you sort out rookies You can save money by tweaking players eg Walker to Hawkins will get you $28k Varcoe to Byrnes will get another $38k,

Sabretooth Tigers

Very nice team the final one. No critiscism and agree 100% with Ringo about tweaking when true rookie form becomes availlable. Loved the inclusion of Ryder in your original team. Doesn't matter if he plays ruck 1 or ruck/ forward just as long as he tears it up. Cheers.

great team, love it.

10/10

backs - i like the 3 premo structure. your 3 will be in top 8 DEF's @ years end.

mids - starting with 4 super premo's (120+) is nice and will be common. Love Fyfe & Mundy (will Mundy be ready by Rnd 1??) both will score 105ish and jump to 550K pretty quick and upgrade them to another 2 super premo's and get the jump on the competion.

rucks - standard. if Leuey keeps injury free and avg's 105ish he might even be a keeper.

fwds - 3 premo's who'll avg over 105. If Dusty can get his head right and more midfield time can he go 95+ ?? trade or keep?? Byrnes will make you a quick 170+ when he avg's 75ish trade in a premo.

Seventh draft

Not sure if I like how this team looks but this was always my preferred structure.
