Hi all... Here is my team, I have already altered it a bit this year, but this is how it stands at the moment. Today I added another youngen/cheapie into the mids (Toumpas), in order to have 5 premium backs, as I think there's more money to be made in the midfield. I normally use the same strategy as I have here, and team set-up and I generally do ok. Nice to hear feedback though.

BACKS: Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Newman, Hartlett, Terlich (Docherty, Pittard)

MID: Ablett, Cotchin, Murphy, Rockliff, Toumpas, B.Goodes, K.Mitchell, Crouch (Viney, O'Meara)

RUCKS: Naitanui, Mumford (Currie, Witts)

FWDS: Franklin, Blair, Martin, Darling, Siposs, Macaffer (Neade, Kerridge)

Obviously the young kids and rookies will change depending on who looks like getting games early on. There is only 15k in the bank, which is what I am normally left with. All feedback welcome.

too many defender so I'll make it easy - just take broughton out. put stevenson in from port - must have rook if named round 1.

Newman and Hartlett also risky but both could pay off and you could do far worse. First two are obvious must haves.

Rocky should be in your fwd line, and blair should not, he will not improve i think with macaffer back, krak back, ball back.....

I would get one more ELITE mid in place of rocky. First 3 are fine as much as Murph frustrated last season he is still learning. will get better.

Naitanui is not fit not going to play round 1 by all reports so get him out, and yes by all means get him straight in once he plays a game or two and looks himself, if he starts slow great even better let him drop in price then get him in.

for Luenberger, at his price and set to play the last round of nab cup the burger is a must at Ruck #2.

Mumford unique and good hopefully his back issues are behind him :) literally...

Franklin is a superstar but something tells me to upgrade to him this season, just not sure on him but it will burn me for not having him if he kicks 13 before i get him in :)

Siposs could be a good pick, could not be also - who knows.

All in all it is a pretty good start, balanced and mainly guns and rooks which is always good.

I would have a good look at a few mid pricers tho, especially burger in the ruck, moloney and ball in the middle, varcoe and byrnes up fwd also bear consideration.

good luck for the season.

Thanks... Yeah there are plenty of things going through my mind, mostly what you've mentioned- franklin could be out rd 1 and I only put in Blair today and definitely was considering others around that price. I had Parker as a mid-priced midfielder and Alex Johnson as a midpriced defender, but went for an extra rookie in mids and upgraded to hartlett in the backline.... I hear what you're saying with the individual players, and particularly Siposs, he is risky. As far as mid pricers go- byrnes, ball and varcoe are all on my radar, and so is LeCras who I may get in instead of Siposs, eventually.... I do like the thought of having Burger in, and it could pull off massively if Leuenberger and Mumford were in and could both average 90ish. Definitely some money could be utilised better if I could fit another defence rookie in and go for Burger in the ruck. Even If I spent more in the mids. Cheers for the feedback.

Have a look at Lewis Stevenson for that "extra" defender rook.

the link to the article there is worth a read.

played bot hNAB CUPgames, scored 20 and 22 respectively which is about par for the rooks so far it seems but he looked good and I think he will be a round 1 starter, time will tell.

Def: You have spent too much in defence downgrade Newman to a cash cow
Mid: Keep Toumpas in your team he will be a class player played real well in the one game he played
Rucks: Replace Nic Nat with Jacobs
FWDs: Blair & Darling are nice unique picks if you goung to pick one go with Darling.

Overall : Your team is unbalanced due to too many mid price defenders  i rate it a 7/10

Cheers lads... Taking your advice and mates advice into account. I have since freed up room by removing Newman and NicNat. I will leave Hartlett in however.... Unsure whether to risk Leuenberger, or spend 200k more and go Jacobs.

I have put Pavlich into my forward line for the mean time... and tossing up between Leuenberger and Jacobs in the ruck. My team at the moment looks like:

BACKS: Goddard, Gibbs, Hartlett, Broughton, B.Goodes, Terlich (Stevenson, Docherty)

MIDS: Ablett, Cotchin, Murphy, Rockliff, Varcoe, Toumpas, K.Mitchell, O'Meara (Colquhoun, Crouch)

RUCKS: Jacobs, Mumford (Currie, Witts)

FWD: Franklin, Pavlich, Martin, Darling, Siposs, Macaffer (Neade, Kerridge)

That team leaves me with 115k spare, and I think it looks more solid. I added Varcoe in as the mid priced midfielder, although what I may end up doing is choosing either him or Siposs as that mid priced/5th forward spot, and then put Viney back in, as he was the omission from the midfield. I may end putting Viney in for Colquhoun as well, but I have Sam in there as he has a mid/def DPP with some of my backmen- useless if he doesnt get a game though. Jacobs I may keep, but he may become Cox, NicNat, Hale/Roughy, I havent really decided 100% there. I also may look to save more $$$ and Go Leuenberger!!
