Sorry for the inconvenience of continually starting a new topic each time i want to upload my team. I'm a long time SC'er but first time FanFooty poster this year and i've only just realized that i should be doing this. Again Sorry!

So here is my team to kick things off:

So what are your thoughts on my side?? Gone for a few POD's in:

-J.Kennedy 9.9% of teams
-J.P.Kennedy 9.9% of teams
-Goldstein 8.6% of teams
-Witts 8.5% of teams
-Pittard 7.1% of teams
-Lonergan 3.1% of teams
-Mundy 3% of teams
-Duffy 2.5% of teams
-Neade 1.3% of teams
-Siposs 1.2% of teams

Because in previous years i have just been going with cookie cutter teams and haven't done as great as i would like so obviously got to risk for the biscuit.

Hard to fault this team Hawkers. Hard to beleive Pittard is only in 7.1% of teams. He's a lock for me !
Maybe 131k is a bit much to have left over, ( money = points )
Only suggestion would be to upgrade Siposs unless you feel comfortable with him.

Thanks Creeker, I totally agree I would have thought Pittard would be in most teams! Idm having 130k spare as i don't have many places i could use. Some are Mundy to Murphy, Goldy to Sandi or even Neade to Byrnes, but i'd rather just keep the money.

Running off half back is a very SC friendly position to play. Everyone who plays there has a VERY solid average. Take a look at this players from 2012:

StK- Goddard: 101
Coll- Shaw: 101
Carl- Scotland: 100
WCE- Waters: 100
Haw- Birchall: 95
Gee- Enright: 94
Freo- Duffman: 93
Adel- Reilly: 92
Bris- Hanley: 90

IMO Siposs is almost certain to take up this spot at St Kilda as He can do anything a player running off halfback should. Here is a intra-club match report on Siposs:

"Siposs lined up on the half-back flank today and didn’t spend any of the game in the forward line. In the first quarter alone, he took 5 marks, 4 as intercepts from opposition kicks, and one contested mark running back with the flight into a pack. At centre bounces, he pushed up onto a wing and became involved in the midfield contest. He was the number one link player running off half back, and other players always looked to dish the ball off to him. He was composed with the ball and was sizzling bullet-like 50m passes all over the ground. And, he was ‘loose’ for pretty much the entire game. I think it’s safe to assume that, at least at this stage of the season, Siposs is being groomed to play the ‘Goddard role’ in 2013"

So IMO he will average 85 at bare minimum but more likely around the 92-95 mark. This kid is a great talent and is very courageous, plus he has GCS, Rich and GWS in the first 3 weeks which will see him get off to a great start and put his confidence sky high, so for me he is locked.

Hard to argue with that write up Hawkers, noticed he has been sneaking into a few teams lately. You have almost talked me into putting him in my team.

Made a few changes which IMO has made it better but with a few more risks which i'm willing to take! Thoughts??

This is the changes with my predictions in brackets:
Duffman (95) --> Hartlett (100) = +5
Broughton (95) --> Grimes (95) = +0
Mundy (110) --> Mitchell (75) = -35
Goldy (100) --> Sandilands (115) = +15
Neade (60) --> Broughton (95) = +35
Total: +20 and far more cash generation from Mitchell rather than Neade

Changes since posting: Hartlett, Grimes, Docherty and Broughton (Fwd) to Duffield, Broughton (Back) Yarran and Byrnes

felsty

honestly i would have left it mate. you are taking a few risks with mid price players up either end when really they wont be in the top six of their respective lines (yarran and byrnes)
what i try to look at is how many keepers you have in your initial team - it will leave you with more trades up your sleeve during the year because you wont have to upgrade mid pricers that almost get to elite scoring but then dont quite make the grade

you had 13 in your latest picture but only 12 after you made your changes

I would revert back to what you had

GM

First side looks really good mate
Staker to Byrnes imo.
Nice team

Thoughts on my side?? Changed my structure to an almost pure Guns 'n' Rookies strategy with my structure being 14/1/15 in (Premo/Mid/Rookies). I'm glad I managed to squeeze in 14 premiums and hopefully can have 15 keepers to start off with, if Leuey can perform. Will switch Broughts down back once a back rookie has fattened up and hopefully find some coin to get Franklin in for round 8. (I don't think Broughts can be a Fwd keeper but will be a Back keeper) Here it is:

I don't really care about my rookies ATP, as Docherty, Mitchell, Neade, Lee, Witts will most likely be changed as i'm not 100% happy with them. I think this is certainly my best team i have come up with so far. Thoughts??

Still don't trust broughton. I would downgrade to varcoe and upgrade a def rookie

I'm pretty sold on Broughton, i got burnt this year but IMO he will go 95+. These are his past season averages:
2009- Avg: 99
2010- Avg: 99
2011- Avg: 93
2012- Avg: 83

He will have greater opportunities at GCS to play his preferred role off half back all year and won't have the Ross Lyon factoring hang over his head. Ball will be down in the back half more often then not, so i won't be surprised if he breaks the 100 mark for the first time, but i think 95 is more realistic. Any thoughts on the rest of my team though?
