1st go at it - rate please!

Hey guys, my first crack at it for this season, any advice would be great.

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Adcock, Broughton, D.Pearce, Docherty (L.Stevenson, Colquhoun)

Mids: Swan, Ablett, Cotchin, Redden, Murphy, Ball, O'Meara, Viney (Hrovat, Couch)

Rucks: Leuenberger, Vardy (Daw, Witts)

Fwds: SJ, Rockliff, Martin, Varcoe, Staker, Byrnes (Macaffer, Lee)

Rem. Salary Cap: $200


Could possibly do Broughton and Redden for Grimes and Fyfe? Should I try and upgrade Vardy?

Trade Ball to Embley
then Adcock to Stanely,Waters,Heppell or Duffield
Loose one of either Swan or Ablett
and use the cash to get rid of Vardy in your rucks
probably need to drop Pearce to a rookie as weel
forward line also a little weak needs someone better than Martin at F3 like Robbo or Pav

Cheers. I'm unsure on Embley atm and I think Pearce could be a consistent scorer at Freo. Im definitely considering upgrading Vardy at this stage tho

I researched Embley and Ball and they average around the same in DT and SC so I personally have gone Embley because he is so much cheaper.

Not really much difference between either of them in Dreamteam and Supercoach.

Is Varcoe likely to be good for round 1? Whats peoples thoughts on Cam Pederson in defence?

I would say so apparently he has been flying at training.

too much risk in the ruck as Vardy 3rd in line behind Mcintosh/West though he may play as a forward a bit. Pearce is a good unique pick but flick Adcock to a suitable rookie and Ball>Embley option to free up cash and turn Vardy into your preferred ruck, the big Cox would be my pick but also like Sandi/Ryder (if Essendon get all clear).

Ablett>Pendles or Cotch>Pendles, just think he's must have at his price.

Ok I've done a fair bit of changes. Here is my updated team.

Def: Goddard, Grimes, Gibbs, Pittard, B.Goodes, L.Stevenson (Docherty, Terlich)

Mid: Swan, Cotchin, Pendles, Redden, Murphy, Fyfe, O'Meara, Viney (Wines, Crouch)

Ruck: Jacobs, Leuen (Witts, Currie)

Fwd: Rocky, Robbo, Wright, Knights, Varcoe, Byrnes (Macaffer, T.Lee)

I've got $48,800 remaining so can possibly upgrade Jacobs to another ruck or someone like Robbo to SJ. Happy with Varcoe and Byrnes but not convinced on Knights job security this far out from round 1. Thoughts?

I'm not convinced Knights can stay on the field if he gets there. Even with the extra trades this year I'm not sure he's worth it. He's missed between 4-17 games a year for the last 5 years. Not a good track record.
With Cox a dpp and Nic Nat missing early I'd put him in if you're thinking of changing rucks.
