My first attempt at my Supercoach 2013 team below.. it seems I've lost my way over the last year and have run out of money quickly. Any advice on freeing up some money is welcome, along with any opinions and suggestions of course.

Def: B. Goddard, B. Waters, B. Gibbs, (Empty), (Empty) - (Empty), D. Van Unen
Mid: D. Swan, B. Deledio, R. Sloane, I. Smith, L. Ball, A. Embley, B. Crouch, J. Viney - E. Kavanagh, J. O'Meara
Ruc: D. Cox, J. Giles - S. Rowe, B. Grundy
Fwd: L. Franklin, D. Thomas, N. Riewoldt, T. Hawkins, D. Martin, S. Byrnes - B. Macaffer, B. Staker

After those selections I'm left only with $540,400 for the remaining three players.. thoughts?

Daisy Thomas will start the season underdone, with him being injured at the moment. Him to a rookie frees up about 400k.

Your rucks (Cox and Giles) are fairly unorthodox, a more common combination of Goldstein/Leuenberger would cost 300k less.

With the spare cash i'd fill those gaps with some rookie defenders (+ maybe Yarran) and then upgade your mids, especially I Smith.

UPDATE: My first completed team is as followed - any suggestions (or a rating out of 10) would be fantastic, hopefully I can get this team to the best it can be before round 1 with your help :)

Mid: D. Swan (C), B. Deledio (V), R. Sloane, S. Burgoyne, L.Ball, A. Embley, B. Crouch, J. Viney (E. Kavanagh, J. O'Meara
Ruc: D. Hale, J. Giles (S. Rowe, B. Grundy)
Fwd: L. Franklin, N. Riewoldt, T. Hawkins, D. Martin, S. Byrnes, B. Macaffer (B. Staker, T. Lee)

All suggestions/opinions are greatly appreciated..

Mykonos FC

Not sure about the Enright, Eliis, Giles or Burgoyne picks but I love your forward line!
The N. Riewoldt pick is very good imo - particularly if your troll through some stats from 2012

Backs: Enright is an ok pick, most think his scores are in decline though, Ellis is only in his second yeat and would be very doubtful he would turn into a keeper. LRT and A.Selwood are both considered to be not very fantasy relevant, Selwood is a tagger and is therefore mainly concerned with stopping an opponent rather than gaining possessions himself and LRT while improving slowly over the years is still nowhere near being a keeper.

Mids: Only Swan and Lids would be considered to players....Sloane may become one but as of yet is still a little behind. Burgoyne can score well in some matches but is moved around in position a lot and is very inconsistent. Ball and Embley are fine and should make you some money

Rucks: Hale i guess isn't the worst pick so long as he keeps Max Bailey out of the team, though i think there are better options out there for your money, same for Giles aswell, was great as a rookie last year but is still a fair way behind being a top ruckmen in the competition.

Forwards: Pretty solid here, Riewoldt is a decent chance to get back to his best form, although St. Kilda seem to be on the slide as a team. Fingers crossed artin finally plays to his potential aswell

Hope that helps a little, these are only my thoughts, don't have to go changing your team all over if your comfortable with your picks :)

Backs: Sound defence except that  I Wouldn't pick Brandon Ellis at his price and don't think Lewis Roberts-Thompson isn't really ideal for supercoach but they are both unique picks.Enright seems to be as well.
Mids: Way too light in the Midfield you have too many mid priced players need at least 2 more premiums
Rucks: You will need at least one premium ruck
Fwds: This is your best line very solid here Riewoldt may be ok if he gets over his injuries.

Overall Your team as it stand i am afraid will  not be competitive just get rid of Burgoyne,Ellis & Roberts-Thomson as well as Selwood  Start Docherty & Pittard.  Upgrade Ellis to Yarran or Shaun Atley.
Downgrade Thomson to Pittard
Downgrade Selwood to either Vlastuin or Goodes
Downgrade Embley to Wines or Lonergan or Koby Stevens
Upgrade Sloane to a Josh Kennedy
Upgrade Burgoyne to another Premium of your choice
Replace Hale with Jacobs & Smith with Leuey

These are just some ideas to improve yor side because at the moment i only rate that team a 6/10 probably should be less.
