Backs Goddard, Reilly, L. Brown, L. Osbourne, B. Goodes, J. Pittard (Docherty, Terlich)
Mids Ablett, Cotchin, Murphy, Pendles, Gibbs, O. Wines, Viney, B. Crouch (K. Mitchell, O'Meara)
Rucks Maric, Goldstein (Rowe, Currie)
Forwards Cox, Rockliff, Wright, Martin, Broughton, Varcoe (Staker, Macaffer)

Loaded up on forwards, Cox can sneak into the ruck swapping for Rowe if needed. Gibbs is starting in the mids so I can drop my worst performing defender rookie and bring in the best performing mid rookie before round 3 (have 70k in the bank set aside for this). If by some amazing luck all my rookies fire he can DPP with Goodes I guess till upgrade time. I'm not even looking at the byes this year, last year I thought I had a clever strategy before injuries and the like tore it to shreds and boned me, just picking the players I feel represent value.

In before player questioning / criticism:

Wright and Reilly will go to a new level this year I feel, they showed me enough to have the utmost faith last year and at their costs I can't say no.

Martin will lift his average considerably I think as Richmond will have an excellent year, still only young so each preseason is adding to his stocks enough for me to pick him at that price.

Broughton is just a thing, he'll be in my team till he retires.

Leuy was in my team but I don't think he'll be a top ranked ruckman and I had 300k with no idea where to put it so picked up Maric for the above mentioned belief that Richmond will have a great year.

Love the different feel of this side.

A lot of self belief needed to stick with it I reckon.

Gibbs in mids - no need really. Mid rooks > back rooks IMO so you just lose the opportunity to load up.

Broughton forward to start with could be genius as back rooks > fwd rooks IMO so you avoid too many dodgy forward rookies.

I agree wholeheartedly with your Leue comments but is he worth it just for cash he can make and his selection gives you time to see which ruck is really hot.

I don't share your faith in the 'bin after last year so leaving him there ie in he bin.

Good side.

Yeah Gibbs is there at the moment purely because I can't decide between those back/mid rooks. I'm sure in a later version of this he'll end up down back.

I think you are way too light on in the backline with only two premiums, but then you have been able to spend that extra cash on the forward line which does look very good. I agree though that Gibbs should be put in the backline over the mids, because there are better mid rookies out there to make some more cash on.

It's a different side, but one that I like and I reckon it can pay off well, if you stick to its structure.

Yeah it's come of a few seasons of agonising over which back and mid rooks to include while really struggling to pick the right forward rookies. So I'm just giving up on picking forward rookies and since mid and back rooks generally do better anyway why not load up on them. Downside is that forwards tend to fluctuate more so are easier to pick up on the cheap, but I can upgrade a back rook to a cheap prem forward and move broughton down back if needed I guess. It'll be interesting how it pans out.
