Beau waters
Bruce Gibbs
Heath shaw
Grant birchall

Had waters in as my D2 but not completely set on him, lot of people seem keen on Gibbs
So just wanted people's thoughts/pros/cons out of these blokes

Colliwobblers

Gibbs lock and Load - will play midfield this season maybe off halfback also but not lockdown tagging roles thats for sure mick knows how to use talent the Blues will impress this season make no mistake.

birchall is an awesome user of the pill, his disposal is usually excellent and they DEMAND the ball in his hands out of defence - solid pick but not better than gibbs

waters is waters as long as he doesnt poleax someone and get suspended he is a solid pick, but not gibbs and can he back up his spectacular 2012?

shaw is behind all 3 i would think, he just has too much accountability in defence to be as good in fantasy as he could be. and he is a bit of a clown to boot.

1. Gibbs
2. Birchall
3. Waters
4. Shaw

Duffield  ;)

But Gibbs is easily ahead of these boys

Gibbs should push a 105+ average this year. Malthouse will use him a lot better then Ratten ever did.

He went 107 under Ratten once  :P

Gibbs is a lock out of the 4. The second one is not so easy, however at this stage I'm leaning towards Waters. Waters is an absolute beast, and as long as he doesn't kill anyone, will hopefully increase his average from last year. He may be a tad unique as well.

Shaw and Birchall are great choices too, but I will most likely start with Waters & Gibbs and trade the other two in later

Agree with Gibbs. However I am not so sure on Waters just yet, need to get a look at him over NAB if he plays.

You know what you will get with Shaw, a roller coaster, but he always scores well overall. But I would prefer Birchall.

From your original question, Gibbs all the way.
I'm putting the most rookies in my Def line as it tends to score less anyway so I feel there is more value in loading up on Mids and Fwds. My D1-3 are God, Gibbs and Duffman. Waters and Shaw as upgrades for mine, nothing wrong with Shaw in my mind, he can be a clown but will be top 4 def with God, Gibbs, Waters this year. It was the byes that meant I haven't got on him straight away, and Waters underdone preseason. Birch consistent but not consistently great, like constant 90-100, not 100+. If Duffman is your D4 then I would say you have a formidable D line, just wonder where you've sacrificed to make that happen? ;)
