Mykonos FC

Each line is sound with no POD's really and no major risks taken.
The Martin pick is good but I think you might be missing out on some value in the mids, however I cannot fault the 5 premiums you have chosen, but if you can afford 5 super prems, why not get Ablett?

Overall, a nice stable team 35/40

lozza63

Cortez- love the structure of this side - agree with Mykanos that one of those super mids should be Ablett, i would suggest Varcoe for Staker and Selwood to Ablett. Boring perhaps but sometimes the crowd is right!?

Ringo

Nice team Cortez - Structure Sound

Obviously you have made the decision to go without Ablett and that is fine and your decision.

Watch your rookies in NAB cup.

Very solid selection of Prems.

Cheers guys, I feel that I have chosen the best 5 mids of the new breed of mids (well not late 20's like swan, Mitchell, Ablett) the reason I haven't gone with Ablett at this point is this last season was his second best season avg, he had a late start to his preseason and I cant see him holding his price. Also I reckon the young kids will start to kick on this year and if they are playing well could see Gaz playing a bit more up forward. Still thinking about it though, just not sure atm.

cortez

And if I was to put Ablett in I would probably downgrade Vlastuin and Danniher and upgrade Kennedy, will see if they are best performing rookies in NAB. But not sure about Gaz got a weird feeling he will only avg 125ish this year and thats not worth 740k.

PICCOLLO

5 premo mids at the cost of a secure backline i think.  Staker for docherty/colqhoun will help. The rest of the side is terrific.

kilbluff1985

very nice mate would give it 9/10

deciding on which strategy to go for, either my original no risk team as  above:

Salary cap left: $32,500.

Brendon Goddard, Heath Shaw, Bryce Gibbs, Brett Goodes, Jasper Pittard, Sam Docherty
Dean Terlich, Sam Colquhoun

Scott Pendlebury, Jobe Watson, Josh P. Kennedy, Joel Selwood, Trent Cotchin, Oliver Wines, Nick Vlastuin, Brad Crouch
Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Viney

Todd Goldstein, Matthew Leuenberger
Majak Daw, Sam Rowe

Lance Franklin, Dean Cox, Tom Rockliff, Dustin Martin, Travis Varcoe, Joe Daniher
Brent Macaffer, Tim Membrey

or a mid price strategy which is a lot more of a risk but could really pay off i think:

Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Watts, Pittard, Docherty,
Terlich, Colquhoun

Pendlebury, J. Selwood, Cotchin, Murphy, Moloney, K. Stevens, O'meara, Crouch
Viney, B. Goodes

Goldstein, Leuenberger
Witts, Rowe

Franklin, Cox, Rockcliff, D. Martin, Varcoe, S. Byrnes
Daniher, Staker

$20,400 left

obviously the bottom team is a lot more of a risk but will it be more rewarding than the top team if it pays off?
and what are your thoughts comparing the teams?
and any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

what a great team. 9.5/10

only thing i dont like is Shaw, if you'd chosen Birchall it'd be a perfect 10.
i think birchall will score around the same with shaw, but 35K cheaper.

then you'd have close to 70K to play with.
not starting with GAJ is risky, but you've got enough quality premo's (120+) to make your team a contender.
good luck.

maybe upgrade martin to Tex ( i think he will be a monster this year)

Ringo

Bit hard to be rationale here Cortez. 2 different strategies.

Prefer the prem team 1 but may be left with egg on face if a couple of mid pricers go boom. Mid pricers you have selected Heppell, Watts, Moloney, Varcoe and Byrnes are solid choices with improvement possible especially those changing clubs.

With 30 trades I would try and mix the 2 teams a little more is possible and see what shakes down

Structure
Def: 3 prem defenders and 1 mid price or just 3 prem
Mids: 4 prem and mid pricer
Rucks no change
Fwds 4 prem and one of Varcoe, Knights or Byrnes

My comments.
