I would think about pairing Luey with a different ruck.I think it is too risky having both your rucks coming off injuries especially after last season.

Your forward line could use another premo Martin at F3 is not a good idea and you have gone very risky having all of Sylvia,Staker,MacCaffer and Byrnes so you`ll need a better F3 than Martin.

Zorko is a nice POD but he comes with a bit of risk as well can he back up last season? Will he cope a tag every week now? You would be better off with Rockliff but if you like risk stick with Zorko.

Likes
Good structure
I like your forward line, neato
Generally good rookie selections

Dislikes
Ablett (see later)
Would prefer Heppell over Birchall, will average a few points more for less $$$.
Very risky rucks, if they stay injury-free it's a great pairing. If.

Suggestion
You can afford to go Ablett to Swan (I think). Def do this. Swan should average 10+ more than Ablett, 126-131 vs 113-117.

Ratings
Backs: 8/10
Mids: 9/10
Rucks: 8/10
Forwards: 8.5/10
Overall: 8.3/10

appreciate all the feedback, thanks heaps

this is a good start.
Personally i think Zorko is the sort of player that will continue his form from last season as he cant patrol the wing and rack up the +6 mark kick combos and not draw the hard tag. I think rocky and him are hard to split this season.

On the ruck choice, McEvoy has a great draw and is that little bit cheaper but i reckon aaron should be fine for a few rounds at least :P

Forward line needs work- too many injury comebacks in the one position can leave you in a little whole if their form doesnt return regardless of the unlimited trades.

And yes, If you can afford the pig, GET HIM!!! (if you can get both, go ahead, i know i have based my team around those two as the first two picked)

Dane Swan

Essendon

North Melbourne

Port Adelaide

Gary will do better than this suggests but he definitely is the one to upgrade to rather than start if you dont have both.
A very good start however.

Not much room to upgrade the mids, dunno bout Fyfe as a premo I'd down grade him, Wembley, or both 'em to rooks for $ leaving room for Swan/Boyd/Cotch/Watson/ (if he's not on drugs, um mah!) later. Rucks n forwards look dodgey, Sandi, Berger, Byrnes, Staker and McCaffer have play about 20 games between them last year, I wouldn't expect too much from them. Dusty and Sylvia can be great when their heads are on straight but can just as easily go mia. Take a bit of $ from the mids and get another solid 90odd avg in there like Bartel, Pav, Lewis, Whitecross even Boomer. They don't miss too many games either.

Would avoid WhiteX as he did his knee, Boomer will miss first 6 weeks (i think 6) with suspension and Pav just joined full training after some back surgery. Maybe Bartel/Lewis out of that list. I would target Robinson personally as I agree you need another fwd lock.

Yeah I dare say an injury/suspension list wouldn't go astray.  ::)
