So I am going to start a team thread here for myself and others to comment on. Kind of like a DT diary.

Dear DT Diary,

2013 finally opened today, and must admit, in all my geekness I couldn't sleep so I got up just after midnight and signed in. Made my team name 'Ballz Deep' which I thought was appropriate after getting reamed last year with injuries and poor initial selection.

I hadn't bothered to make a fanplanner team, I just had ideas in my head from what sort of structure I wanted to go for. I haven't really put too much time into rookies, just put the names in that seem to be popular. I will wait for NAB cup obviously.

Defenders;
Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Broughton, Pittard, Colqhourn, Terlich, Docherty.

Goddard- I think he will kill it this year. Change of scene and a chop-out from Watson, Stanton & Zaka he should be back near his best.
Gibbs- Under-priced for potential output. I expect big numbers under Mick
Heppell- Love this kid. Low SD with continued improvement
Broughton- New club, proven DT slut, no Ross Lyon in sight. Should go bang
Notes- I like Lake and Birch, but I really can't get them in at this stage

Midfield;
Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, Murphy, Embley, Wines, Crouch, O'Meara, Viney, Kerridge

Swan- PIG
Ablett- PIG
Pendles- Under-priced PIG
Murphy- Under-priced gun
Embley- Showed he is still a gun with an inspired finals campaign. With a solid pre-season and NAB cup he sould average 90+
Rookies- Not fussed at this stage, I put Wines in just because he was a bit more expensive so I have flexibility with pricing
Notes- Flower I am close to putting Stanton in for Pendles. I have had him in my plans all pre-season. Only 4 premo mids, is it enough??

Rucks;
Sandilands, Luenburger, Currie, Sinclair

211- Risk vs reward? Wait and see. Could be no. 1 ruck in league or out for 6 with a broken toe nail, Watch
Luey- Standard
Currie- Standard
Sinclair- R/F MPP with Cox, possible VC loophole early as rolling donut. Not sure, just an idea.
Notes- Initially had Big Boy in at R1, went 211 because I had the cash. Love 211, but those toe-nails!!

Fowards;
Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Martin, Knights, Byrnes, Staker, Lee

Franklin- Not sold, thought about leaving him out, but I don't know if I can watch a game of football with him playing and he isn't in my team.
Cox- Should dominate early without NN
Rocky- You spud, you killed me last year, but I have forgiven you
Martin- Him or Wright? Backing this idiot in for now
Knights- Under-priced, watch NAB
Byrnes- Under-priced, watch NAB
Rookies- watch NAB
Notes- Had intentions for Wright, not sure at present.

49 days, to flower it all up and start over. Peace

Windigo

Nice team & insight mate. Embers is the best mid pricer going around. More people should be locking him in!

Sandi if fit should be one of the premier scoring ruckmen.  8)

FWD line is well though out with a couple of midpricer in there. Just watch them, but the potential upside is huge.

Good strength everywhere, that is utilized by not having another premium mid.
