What we do know is that the DT Talk boys are inside the machine. So articles like this should be viewed closely.

You would think they are going to radically adjust the MN before season starts since they have opened Dreampicker, but wouldnt write it off either. There are little asterixs' everywhere saying the pricing is subject to change until DT opens.

One point should be made about the magic number (MN).

As Pete Jankulovksi tells it, there is no such thing in his system as a magic number which he can "tweak". We only calculate it by reverse engineering the system. His system involves keeping the total salaries of all players in the comp the same from week to week, such that all increases added up are equal to all decreases added up. The MN as we know it changes through the season to take into account the increased prices of rookies to offset it with decreased values of premiums, but it's a symptom, not a cause of that process.

The MN will not change before the season, just as the prices will not change before the season. What is likely to change is the formula for price changes, to slow them down. There is at least one static number in the VirtualSports price change equation that can be tweaked to do this. Exactly how much it will be changed is something that only Pete knows at this stage, AFAIK.

So in essence price fluctuation can be changed/slowed?

So in essence price fluctuation can be changed/slowed?

And is it possible that they can do this without letting us know?

It wouldn't be very fair to do that during a season.
