Here is my first attempt at a team post-official-price release. Tear it apart:

Def: Goddard (D/M), Gibbs (D/M), Grimes, Broughton (D/F), Goodes (D/M), Pittard, (Osborne, Terlich)

Mids: Ablett, J.Kennedy, Murphy, Redden, Mundy, Crouch, O'Meara, Hrovat, (Viney, Colquhoun(D/M))

Rucks: Naitanui (R/F), Leuenberger, (Gawn, Grundy)

Fwds: Franklin, Rockliff (M/F), S.Johnson (M/F), Martin (M/F), Varcoe (M/F), Staker (D/F), (Macaffer, Lee)

Bank: $45,400.

Defs: Goddard, Gibbs and Grimes will be the top 3 ranked defenders. Broughton SHOULD have a midfield role, hence should average 90+ again. Pittard should avg 75-85, so could become a D6/7 keeper. Goodes and Osborne are chosen under the assumption they will get elevated before round 1. Either or both could quite easily become Docherty and/or Terlich.

Mids: No need to explain Ablett. JPK, Murphy and Redden will all be in the Top 8-10 Mids. Mundy should avg 105-115. All rookies are picked assuming at least 3/5 start round 1.

Rucks: All pretty standard choices. NicNat will become Ryder/Bellchambers/Goldstein if not fit for Rnd 1.

Fwds: Buddy.... Rockliff will be top 3 fwds. Stevie J will be back to his best, if not better if he keeps the Midfield role from late this season. Martin could have a huge year if Chocco Williams manages him properly and unleashes his true potential. Varcoe could become a F6/7 keeper. Staker is way too cheap to ignore. Macaffer is a tentative pick. Lee should get plenty of games as is mature, and most likely the future of the mighty St.Kilda Football Club's forward line.

Please provide feedback.

Sound Team mate

Backs solid Goddard and Gibbs probably a must in teams this year, Would possibly look at an alternate rookie with D/F Dpp for flexibility allowing Staker to shift.

Mids: Strong line here  as above see if you can add a F/M DPP for flexibility. You have Colquhon as D/M DPP.

Rucks: Good line here as well Have you considered replacing Grundy with a R/F DPP and moving Nat to forwards and selecting another Ruck,  There are quite a number of R/F DPP this year so you should take advantage if possible.

Forwards: Solid here Franklin imo is a little overpriced and may be able to be used as an upgrade target later on,

Your team and your decision though. Just suggesting a lot of flexibility for you given the chnage in rules.

Overall very sound team at the moment 8.5/10

Thanks Ringo.

I've got Broughton in Def as my DPP link with Staker.

The only rookie M/F i'm really looking at atm is Kennedy. If there's any others that I should be looking at, I'm happy to be persuaded

I can always switch Lee with a Rookie R/F.

I've editted the OP with DPP status.

Sam Mayes or Troy Menzell maybe worth a look at as F/M although a little more expensive.
