GEELONG draftee Jackson Thurlow will start his first pre-season with the Cats on a restricted program as he recovers from injuries he suffered back in September.

A 190cm running defender, Thurlow suffered a broken thumb and facial fractures while playing for Launceston in the Tasmanian State Football League second semi-final

From all reports it wasn't pretty -

"Launceston's Jackson Thurlow received multiple facial fractures and a broken thumb after he was rammed into the West Park concrete bike track against Burnie in the TSL's second semi-final."

That's one way to build your reputation as a tough nut.

haha I know hey. Is there really a bike track so close to the oval?

Ziplock

depending on what type of ground you're at- like there could be a bike track going around the oval, like 3m off it or something.
