Tom Gillies has signed with Melbourne on a one year deal.

P.S. Also posted in the Gillies' delisting thread on the Geelong board.

This was said at the last bit of that article?

"But the former half-back had a change of heart, telling the Demons that he no longer had the passion required to move to Melbourne in an effort to continue at AFL level."

but you need to read the whole article
QuoteMelbourne is out to boost its defensive depth after the departure of Rivers. Last week, former Brisbane Lion Cheynee Stiller was given permission to train with the Demons.

Yep, what tabs said. They grabbed Gillies because Stiller, who was training with them, decided to hang up the boots.

Little retarded today.  :o

Good get for the Dees. Gillies was being groomed as the replacent for Scarlett, but I guess Rivers took that spot. Gillies will now take Rivers spot  :o  ;)

Yeah, basically what should and almost certainly will happen now. Should slot straight in and fill the void made by Rivers.

...and so the circle is complete. :o

Reminds me of the GAJ trade/s.

Really really good pick up for Melbourne. Rivers was 28 and was really going nowhere with Melbourne, Gillies looks a likely type and can play a similar role while being significantly younger. Kind of surprised he didn't get two though.
