GREATER Western Sydney will take a simple philosophy into this year's NAB AFL Draft on the Gold Coast to take the best player available at each pick.

With the club holding the top three selections in the draft in 2012 it will quickly become clear on Thursday evening who the club ranks one, two and three in the land.

However its recruiting manager Stephen Silvagni said the club was determined to take the same approach with picks 12, 14 and 28 rather than recruit simply for need at that point in the draft.

"Our philosophy is to take the best player in the draft as they pop up and keep calling their names out," Silvagni told AFL.com.au.

The Giants await an AFL Commission decision on Tippett's availability. Giant's recruiting manager Stephen Silvagni said the club had enough ruckmen not to have to recruit a young tall in case Tippett falls through their fingers.

"With the ruckmen situation, we have got Jonathan Giles, Andrew Phillips, Tom Downie and Sentanta O'hAilpin who can play that position so we feel as though we have enough ruckmen on our list" Silvagni said.
