The consensus seems to be 7th to 12th, I said 10th. I think what you have to do is look at where they failed last season and see what they have done to improve.
Have they recruited well, are young players ready to step up, or do they need another season?
To answer you Bunyip
IMO we have recruited well - Moloney will win the ball in the midfield clearances an area where we solidly beaten last year
Martin if he regains 2011 form will be another focal point forward and take some pressure of Brown
Draft picks added to our forward depth
All of the younger players with the exception of Docherty have been given games this year and will stand up.  Players like Green, Polec, Golby, Bewick and Beams have shown ability so this season will see if they take the next step.

You need a good spread of players who have played 50 games or more. I will be watching Brisey with interest. I would love to see the Lions and Tigers in the mix this season.
I think recruiters are becoming more important than ever because successful teams attract sponsors more easily. Brisbane seem to have done well and have a clutch of young players to build a team around. If they come of age this season (personally I think thats asking a bit much) they will have a top 8 team for the next 5 to 10 years.
A premiership or 2 in that time is not unreasonable. You can have the even years ;D

Capper

i dont know if they will make the 8 next year. 10th for me, but it will be an improvement on field.

They play GC, Dogs and Dees twice which they should win but also the Roos and Cats twice. They will be good tight games against the Roos but the Cats havent had much many issues beating the Lions of late. The games against the Saints, Roos, Tigers, Bombers and Blues will play a major role in how the Lions go in 2013.

Top 8 in 2014 though

Hawka

Top 8 for me see alot of improvement still, just look at that midfield!

Ringo

We currently have on our roster 9 players whi have played over 100 games and a further 7 who have played over 50 games. (Included in these 7 is our future star midfield of Rich, Redden, Rockliff and Berger)
Players with less than 50 games who may play most games this season are Clay Beams, Zorko, Bewick, Golby.
As has been said may not make it next year but watch out in 2014. And it is an even year Bunyip,

For information an article detailing the breakup of Lions players for the 2013 year.  According to the article we have the youngest list apart from GWS and GC with 74% of our list aged 24 or under.

As bunyip says watch out when the younger players hit 50 games or more.

I think anywhere from 8-12 would be a reasonable estimation for Brisbane

I have predicted elsewhere that they will be the interstate smokie to make the 8 with a fairly easy draw ala Adelaide in 2012 and West Coast in 2011
