LACHLAN Hansen has ignored opposition overtures to re-sign with North Melbourne for the next two seasons

The tall forward was a key part of North's outstanding second half of this season, forming a potent three-pronged attack with fellow big men Drew Petrie and Robbie Tarrant.

But Hansen, 24, entered this month's Gillette AFL Trade Period out of contract, with reports suggesting he was unhappy with North's initial contract offer.

Hansen's future became clouded when opposition clubs, headed by Greater Western Sydney and Fremantle, reportedly tried to entice him away from Aegis Park.

But North put an end to that speculation when it told kangaroos.com.au the No. 3 pick in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft had re-signed with the club on Friday.

I would have cracked it if he left just as he comes good. I really can see Hansen becoming a solid forward option, he should glimpses of why he went pick 3 towards the end of this year.

Hardly..
He showed that he was worthy of actually being on an AFL list but he has a long way to go before he justifies being picked at number 3. Just hitting the prime of his career so needs a massive year in 2013
