Partial Lockout vs Ruck Choices

The Leuenberger injury situation has made picking rucks, and thus a team, so hard for Round 1. I'm wanting to pick a ruck who I can wait until the last minute on next Saturday before weighing up if I want to go with Leuenberger. But that effects other selections! Every alternative to Leuey I look at, is either a) expensive or b) playing before the last lockout. I wanted Jacobs to start off with but he plays this Friday night. Then I was thinking about Kreuzer, but he plays on the Thursday night of the 2nd weekend, meaning final teams won't be out.

Complicating it further, even if you lock in Leuenberger and he doesn't play, you won't know if Blicavs is playing until Monday night - the last game of the round! Otherwise Currie will be relied upon to get a game, which seems doubtful. If selected, either option could score sub 40 and put you behind the comp after round 1. And you'll still be waiting on Leuenberger to return.

Presently I've got Cox locked at R1 to leave me with only 1 ruck selection. I don't think Maric represents value for money and plays next Thursday, Mumford is injury prone and could get subbed off like in the GF last year... who else? Or will Blicavs & Currie be good enough cover for any games Leuenberger misses..? Seems risky picking Leuenberger even if he's named for round 1 (could be a late withdrawal too?) but the alternatives are equally risky at this stage.

It's a tough one alright. I don't think we'll know what the best combo/strategy is until it's too late.

for me im not usre if i should play cox R1 or F1, R1 is much much safer.

but i want a goldy burger ruckline.

which is even more complicated. If currie is not named round 1, than goldy is probably locked, if not he is out. Burger and Blicavs are an issue too. I dont mid playing Blicavs as R2 but if both are out and currie is named i might have no rucks i want.

putting Cox in the ruck is ok, but means i cant have burger and goldy if both look good.

i have gone back to the burger :)

cox - burger ( blivcas / Currie or Daw )

if burger not named round 1 blicavs will be and can cover, i will make the points up in my improved midfield i feel and even more so when burger is up to full speed.

I posted this somewhere before, I'm not sure the Premo + Rookie will work this year

Currie and Daw are still behind Goldy at North
Everyone is jumping on Blicavs but West is only a week away and pushing for round 1. Even if he doesn't make round 1, he will kick Blicavs out in round 2.
Rowe isn't a great scorer
Witts is behind Jolly and Collingwood will elevate Hudson today

I'm thinking it has to be a Premo + Premo or take a risk with a breakout player like Smith

Will Blicavs be named round 1 mate, wasnt elevated today and theyve got two weeks to get either of West and Mcintosh up and about. Im not sure whats going to happen, wish i could be.

Maric - Luenburger ( Blicavs / O'Hailpin )

Cox = FWD. instead of Buddy.

i will just need either luenberger, O'Hailpin or Blicavs to play , failing that I will need neade or Lee to play with cox sent to the ruck...

surely i can get one of those 5 to get a game?

Once Fridays partial lockout starts mate Cox will locked in your FWD line unable to move. Ive thought about it up. down & inside out and cant come up with a safe option other than 2 prems in the ruck. :(

yeah thats true, but i think the burger dilemna may go on past round 1. so if your going to have him you probably need to look a little further ahead for cover.

my choice is simple. but not so....

M5 + M6 + F4 + R2

Dangerfield + Viney + Martin + Luenberger

(in this option viney doesnt start - Wines/Mitchell/O'Meara do ) but viney is the guy I trade out for Lucas in the other team

Moloney + Lucas + Lecras + Maric
