The Western Bulldogs have used one of their third round selections in the National Draft to secure midfielder Lachlan Hunter in today’s Father - Son bidding process at Etihad Stadium.

Hunter, who was widely regarded as a top 30 pick, was nominated by North Melbourne with pick 35 which resulted in the Bulldogs using their next available selection to draft the young talent.

Lachlan Hunter, son of former 130-gamer Mark, will join the Bulldogs at Whitten Oval after representing Vic Metro in the 2012 AFL Under-18 national championships, as well as earning a place in the 2012 TAC Cup Team of the Year for his recent season with the Western Jets.

The forward / midfielder is accomplished in both his inside and outside game and will look to build on both during his first full pre-season.

Great to see Hunter getting picked up with a 3rd round selection. Now with Martin and most likely Hogan out of reach we can focus on recruiting properly with our picks #5 and #6.
