i reckon he will average 90+ DT premium #1 ruck with backup only if required, should see big scores week in week out if fit.

a lock for me if fit and a steel

+1 Cant go past him at 200k!

Hmmm I'm seriously considering three prem ruckmen - Sandi, Goldy & Cox in FWD line.
Then if Berger comes out in the first two weeks and dominates i'll trade Sandi/Goldy to him. I just cant see Berger coming out and scoring 80+ early on in the season. Might take 5-6 rounds for his avg and price to increase.

According to the following article (http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/baby-steps-for-lions-giant-matthew-leuenberger-on-the-comeback-trail-from-injury/story-e6frf9jf-1226559551029), Leuey is still rehabbing from his achilles injury. His goal is to play the last two NAB cup games. Not much preparation for a No 1 ruckman.

This kind of cautious talk makes me nervous, so much so that I'm considering starting with Leuey as R3. Considering the lack of other options, I think he'll play Round 1 but could easily knock out a patch o 60 - 70s as he gets into the season.

Tell me I'm crazy!

I was thinking bout' him as a R3 and have 2 premos. Then once he either proves himself or starts scoring 60s I can either dump him for cheaper once he tops out or if he goes BOOM in scores downgrade one of my other 2 premos. One of the advantages of unlimited trades.  :P

Yep. I'm looking at two structures. Don't reckon there's much between them but Leuey could be a great cashcow.
Either:
R1 - R2 (Leuey - R4)
F1 - F2 - F3 - Sylvia (90) - F5 - F6
Or:
R1 - R2 (R3 - Currie)
F1 - F2 - Zorko (95) - F4 - F5 - F6

You're crazy ;D
Yeah he is risky but so cheap that if he plays i'll just pick him, you could go Vardy and hope he makes a little cash then swap later? ???

Ha ha.  :o
I'm now thinking of selecting Leuey as R3 with Cox as DPP R1 and Mummy as R2 until I see how Leuey is playing. If he's not worthy of a starting berth then he'll stay on the bench, but if he starts punching out 90s then Cox will go forward and Leuey will jump into R2 behind Mummy. Gah! He's doing my head in.

Colliwobblers

better to put a couple of DPP ruckmen in, COX in the ruck and ryder roughead or nicnat if he comes up in time in the fwd line with looey ruck 2, a genuine rookie ruck cash cow, Daw for me if he shines in nab cup, he should he has gotten a lot better the last two years.

problem is to make use of the 2 premium rucks if looey goes down you need your other rook to be DPP, which is pretty much a waste of a rook as those guys aren't likely to play, but it does provide the cover needed for the ruck and allows your 2nd premium ruck to score for you in the fwd line while Looey is playing and scoring well...

@mezzoculo - for Cox to go fwd under your scenario you also need a DPP rookie ruckman but for you starting in your fwd bench, to enable you to bring cox fwd, unless you trade out a fwd player move cox fwd then trade in a new ruck player ......

rucks will always do your head in, I had Mummy then Sandi last season...... enough said.

Geez that strategy could have merit. You'd have the chance to downgrade Leuey or Mumford early if they start giving you hassle, otherwise you have great backup week-to-week. Could be a timely downgrade during the season if a rookie ruck just starts to play a few games too.

essendon2

or just start McEvoy and Sandi?

see how Leuenberger goes, if he averages within 10 ppg of McEvoy downgrade and pocket the cash?

Yeah, I have West Coast's Sinclair sitting at F8 but Setanta will get a gig if he plays early.
