Did Sam Mitchell finish second in the brownlow but not make the AA? :o

Crazy stuff!

Anyway, wanna wish you guys good luck for this saturday. The best two teams are through. Good luck

Ricochet

So true! the AA selectors really have me stuffed on some of their exclusions this year

Ziplock

lol, I really wanted him to win, so the browlow and coleman medallists wouldn't be in the AA team :P

lol, always :)

Wonder if Dane was a chance if he hasn't missed those 2, finished 5 votes back.

Sam Mitchell is an outstanding player, he really is.

They were against Sydney and North so very big games. You would have expected him to poll well
Thought he was very stiff a couple of times. There was one game he got 39 or 40 touches and didn't even get a vote

Shows how shower and stats driven the AA team is. Had him in my DT all year and he was pretty average in a fantasy sense but just shows how quality the possessions he gets really are. And good to the the umpires reward quality not quantity.

I disagree re that stats driven part of the AA team selectors. Natanui and Rioli weren't picked on stats, but their so called X factor.

For me Mitchell in place of Rioli, and Maric in place of Natanui.

I can agree that NicNat likely wasn't picked on stats, but Rioli makes it on stats alone - look at his tackle counts!

Mitchell probably ahead of Swan/Pendles in my book

I'm pretty sure that was their justification for selecting Rioli, inside 50 tackles in particular.

+1 probably Deledio as well.

Mitchell is pretty high up on tackles too, plus he gets the ball more often too. I would have thought that would count more. For me, he and Swan are at par, but ahead of Pendlebury for 2012 definitely.
