Three Decisions... A Million Possibilities...

This week should see Three important decisions that will in my opinion shape the Trade and Free Agency Period. Three decisions of three big men of the game.

Kurt Tippett, Travis Cloke and Quinten Lynch all face important decisions this week as to whether or not to sign on with their current clubs (Adelaide, Collingwood and West Coast respectively) or elect to go and take up higher paying options in the FA/Trade periods.

These three decisions will have a flow on effect that will (as stated above) shape the rest of October (if not 2013). If Tippett stays at Adelaide, Brisbane and Gold Coast will be forced to look to other avenues to fill their Key Forward role as Veteran Brown's career comes to a close and the Suns look to find a reliable, key point in Attack. If he goes - Kurt will likely end up on the South East Tourist Strip and will be in red (or maroon) in 2013. But with Adelaide tabling a new $800k offer to their star big man, this could change everything - with the Suns already backing away due to cap reasons and Brisbane not able to beat it.

Cloke on the other hand has been talked about in much larger circles as being approached by everyone from Fremantle to GWS to Carlton, where he is favoured to end up. This decision all hinges on the supposed new incentive-based 5 year deal Collingwood is expected to have tabled to Cloke and his overzealous, much despised father-manager. If he signs on, this will see Carlton chase West Coast's Lynch heavily as a back up plan; and also may consequently see Pies midfielder Wellingham squeezed out of the club.

This brings us to Quinten 'Q Stick' Lynch. With the opinions of the masses widely dispersed on the former Eagles gun, whether or not Lynch resigns or comes to Melbourne for his 'retirement package' remains to be seen. He could end up with Carlton if Cloke stays at the Pies; or in a weird twist he could consequently end up at Collingwood if Cloke crosses to VISY Park. But if he and Cloke both elect to stay put, Carlton could be left to their own vices and may have to develop their own young guns in Casboult and Luke Mitchell - which seems to suit many Blues supporters just fine too.

Regardless of what happens this week - ones thing's for sure... October will be one of the most intensely watched and interesting months that the AFL has seen in its history.

What do you think? Should they stay or should they go?

the title should be:
Three Decisions... Millions of Dollars :D

Then there's also Goddard to throw into that ring of three
Cannot wait to see who goes where.

Just to look at this in DT terms... If Cloke moves to Carlton, does this make him better or worse in terms of DT? Personally, I think this will weaken his scoring because the Collingwood midfield is stronger than the Cartlon one. How about the Carlton small forwards? Will Betts and co. be better off or worse off with Cloke?
Also, Cloke's decision surely affects Dawes as well. I think he could improve dramatically if Cloke were to go.
And that's before considering the other possible movements!

Cloke would still kick bags of goals for the Blues and avg 85-95+ - but might take half a season to click with Tex, Waite and Betts.

Carlton midfield is in the top echelon of the league when they're firing (think 2011, not 2012) so he'd still get great delivery.

Dawes on the other hand... I think Pies will need a #1 target to replace Cloke if he goes as Dawes is not a #1 forward in any forward line imo. Although I guess we'll never know unless Cloke heads out the door.

Personally, with every passing day I'm hearing more and more talk of him staying and accepting the Pies' deal with this supposed 5th year inclusion. We will see.

What would Goddard going to Freo do to his DT relevance?

Ross originally took him to a 110+ player
would love to see it repeated

Yeah, I agree. I reckon it'd get him back to DT superstardome!

I don't think it will affect him at all. Like ric said he's scored really well under Ross Lyon before so he'll be fine. It's more then rest of Freo to worry about. Bryce Gibbs is the one I'm hoping to fire again next year.
