Missed Rounds: 20,21,22

Injury History: Hamstring Strain against Adelaide, Round 19. Howlett was out for 3 weeks.

Summary: High quality player who can break through packs and get's contested footy. His 153 tackles topped the Essendon charts and was ranked 3rd for possesions. He has been a mid-pricer for 2 seasons and if he can break out he will be a gem.

Verdict: Shortlist him for sure. I  would be interested to see the draw Essendon get's as that could be the differance between a big season or a smaller one. If Goddard comes to the bombers Howlett will NOT be tagged and that could pay big dividends for him.

Torpy's Prediction: 93 Average. I think he will really step up in 2013.

yeah, I really like his value for 2013. The only question is with Stanton, Watson & maybe Goddard would he fit into a midfield of 5 if you included Watson+God in your team?

Wicked writeup mate!

On my watchlist but probs won't fit my structure :)

Spinking

Not a premium and not likely to make enough cash to be considered as a cash cow.

Not for me, but I do like how he goes about it so will be keeping an eye on him.

Windigo

Awkward price....Your banking on him being at least 100+ player every week to justify picking him.

Could be a "Sloane like" breakout.

Not for me.

I agree, but Howlett has shown much better consistency than Sloane who would pull out a 50-60 every now and again.

My thoughts exactly. I'd rather have an Embley or a Ball as M5 who will average the same amount but is ~100k cheaper.

Incredible potential, may surprise next year.  I'll be watching with interest.

Pass for me. A bit risky for the price. Don't think I'll e taking to many chances in my midfield.

Ball will be 100k cheaper? I think he'll be around 320-340k

Benny is a great player, probably in our best 7-or-so players and our 3rd best mid, won't cop a tag much and I reckon will average 100+ when in his peak years. At this stage a no for me, unless he either somehow gains DPP or has a meteoric pre-season. Awkward price bracket and you can't risk it with mid-pricers in the midfield, where seasons are made.

Heppell21

Tackling machine!
Should get a good year from Howlett in 2013

Capper

Great write up, but only a bombers fan would have multiple Bombers in their midfield.

Not for me, would rather take Bubba

Like the way he goes about it, but wont average 110+ though, which is what you want from your mids.
