My midfield was Swan, Cotch, Pendles, Murph, Fyfe, Moloney, Embley, Wines (Crouch, Viney). But after much deliberation ive come to the conclusion that i went too hard in the middle. So i wanted to see who people thought would be least beneficial to me out of cotchin, pendles or murphy. I think a lot of people might say drop moloney but i do like his upside. Obviously the 3 i named r all guns. Pendles is a proven dreamteamer. Cotch broke out last year, can he back it up and go 1 better and push his average to the 120+ mark? Will murphy have a better season in 2013 (costs 50k less but only averaged 101), what difference will malthouse make to his scores? Any thoughts will be helpful. Cheers guys!

Murphy is still a better player than Cotch :-X

Mr.Craig

If you must get rid of one I'd say Cotch but really it should be Moloney. I'm sure the money could be used better elsewhere and you'd get the benefit of another money making mid rookie.

My thoughts are that multipule mid priced mids is too risky, especially when most of the high scoring rookes will be mids.  Prem/rookie mid is the right format.  Mid price risks should always be Forward, Backs and possibly one in Ruck.

In saying that we can't have all the prem mids so out of your 3 i would suggest Cotchin as he has the least upside, but I have all three

Agree, Murphy is a more skilled player than Cotchin, but Cotch has proven himself against a strong tag whilst Murphy, in what we saw last year, struggles.  I don't think they even bother trying to tag Swan or Pendles these days.  I'd go Swan, Pendles, Cotch, Redden, Fyfe, and drop Maloney or Embley to a rook.

Cotchin's 1st QTR's are pretty dominant....

Holz

agree with the others, moloney to OMEARA.

its the first team without him, he is the best rookie pick.

Pendles you should lock. I would drop ctochin dont think he will have a verry good start.

He averaged 115 against bottom 10 sides last year and 104 against top 8 teams. He starts the season with 4/5 sides i predict to be top 8.  Played alot of easy teams to end the year last year and thats what lifted his average.

Nige

Yeah, first and foremost, get Jaeger O'Meara in. Out of them, I'd say drop Murphy, but then that's probably because I absolutely love Pendles and Cotch.

Ricochet

I would drop Moloney personally, but of those 3 i would drop Cotchin. Pendles > Murphy > Cotchin

Windigo

Pendles=Value

Murphy=Value

Cotchin=The Unknown to a degree. Selwood last year with the captaincy makes me not want to pick Cotch from the start.

Jukes

Pendles > Cotchin > Murphy

Pendles: 117
Cotch: 117
Murphy: 108

Pendles and Cotch should easily account for Murphy.

Whilst Cotchin is a jet, I don't think he'll average 117. I don't think you realise how hard that is to average.

He'd need to top the 2012 year of Beams, Boyd's last 3 years and Ablett back in 2009/2011. Not that easy.

Pendles >>> Murphy > Cotchin.

GM

Murphy is a premo no doubt.
He slipped under the radar in 2010 & 11 while Judd was getting all the attention.
To me, i am not sold he can score consistently well while being tagged.
This year he will experience more attention so time will tell.
His scores imo will solely be decided on how  much attention he is paid.
Cotchin seems to have that killer instinct in his attack on the ball that so often breaks tags.
Ablett has the same.So yes i think he can improve his ave if he keeps up that approach.
