How our season went.

I think our effort today against North Melbourne really epitomises our inaugural season- never give up, always try your hardest, and constantly improve to be better every week.

I've been really happy- for the 18th placed team and youngest team to only go down to a top 8 side in the final round by less than 30 points, with an extensible injury list, is quite an achievement.

I'm glad I support the giants, cause if I didn't, I'd be scared :P

Yeah I think you've summed that up well Zip.

I think they've got a bit of the Swans mentality in a way - toughness, never give up, and play for each other.  I think they'll be ahead of GC in 3 or 4 years to be honest.

Ziplock

3 or 4 years and we'll be over every team :P

remember, as it stands now we finished with GC a 1/1 win lose, and only 1 win behind them for the season :P

I reckon next year we should be better than them, port and wbd at least.

I don't see gws being above gc next year.

Gws will win the spoon 2 years straight. Will struggle like the gold coast. Need to recruit some long term senior bodies to be competetive. With the list, they won't improve on this year.

Gold coast would win 6-8 games easy next year so gws will win that many?

I am scared :(

Hate to say it GC, but I think GWS has the better list. There won't be any competing with GWS in a few seasons.

^ That's the picture you were referring to :o

who says we won't recruit senior bodies? get solid people like hargrave etc. in, who still have a bit left. Maybe dan connors? lets face it, pick him up in the rookie draft and tell him that if he flowers up it's over, not really that much of a  risk. On top of that, you're going to have a bulked up cameron, and a patton who's actually done a full pre-season and is fully fit. Whitfield on top of that, + general improvements by the youngsters.

Bulldogs for the spoon next year imo. They've lost 2 of their defenders, albeit gilbee didn't play much this season, then you look at the rest of their list- they have promising youth in libba, wallis, dalhause and dickson (although dicksons 25 lol.), then look at the rest of their team
boyd- he's getting pretty old, but really he's not that damaging anyway... accumulators only damage if they have players around them to do the tricky stuff.
cooney- degenerative knee problems, honestly could retire.
cross- is 30 next year, also aging
gia- 31 next year, and next year will probably be his last
grant- just isn't ready to step up as a no.1 key forward.
higgins- injury prone
griffen- you can't fault him that much
lake- you would think he's reaching the end of his career as well

etc. etc. etc.

point is, I think they're in line with the spoon. Keep in mind the giants have been pretty screwed with injuries this season- if we'd had a proper key forward against melbourne, and maybe even north, those games would have been a lot closer.

GWS will do alot better than GC this year

Justin Bieber

I said if you recruit only year old players then it will make the team shower for several years. I don't see the gws winning more than 3 games next year, whereas, the gc will win 6-8 and will beat gws both time they play. Comfortably.

I agree with whatlez here... While GWS might have the better list they will suffer te same second year blues as gcs this year... I can't see thm improving sO much that they will be ahea of gcs but could end up higher than someone like the bulldogs, because I agree they do not look like turning their form around any time soon...

Give em a few more years and they will be beast. Just not next year! ::)

GWS was good in patches as all young teams are they have some great talent especialy Green Cameron Bugg Giles sheil and the list goes on but I think McDonald and Brogan will retire
apart from that they have done really well in their first AFL season :)
