aren't even offering odds for hawks to win :P

you're officially in the same boat as giants now :P

PowerBug

Oh great. What about the "team always plays better under new coach" rule?

only really makes sense if you get a better coach.

have you even gotten a new coach yet? Primus was a good coach.... it was shower quality of players that let him down. You guys are going to cop an absolute flogging this weekend in close to the 200 point proportion.

PowerBug

Garry Hocking is taking over for the remainder of the year.

I remeber my uncle saying that as long as we don't get rolled by over 165pts to hawthorn it's an improvement on last year. And whenever he mentioned it i've been like of course we'll improve. He hasn't mentioned it at all this week. :-X

wrong wrong wrong and..... more wrong!

the quality of the playing group if fine! Port won't lose bye 200 points and there are better coaches found in the bottom of a wheaties box

PowerBug

Considering Hawthorn are playing their reserves i can't see a 200 point loss happening.

basically.

no.

I can't say this enough, it's not primus' fault if your showercow players can't kick straight. That's a basic skill you need to even get drafted at an afl level. Primus' skill in coaching is demonstrated through how competitive port have been this season

let's break it down- there are 9, maybe 10 teams if you include the saints, who can feasibly make finals
Sydney, Adelaide, Collingwood, Hawthorn, WCE, Geelong, North Melbourne, Essendon, Fremantle and Saint Kilda (in current ladder order). Let's look at the performances, keeping in mind after ports disgusting season last year, they were written off by a majority of the AFL community for the 2012 season.

Sydney- 22 point loss
Adelaide- 19 point loss
-58 point loss
Collingwood- 25 point loss
Hawthorn- 46 point loss
WCE- (haven't played)
Geelong- 38 point loss
North Melbourne- 2 point win
Essendon- 25 point loss
-50 point loss
Fremantle- 40 point loss
-28 point loss
STK-  2 point loss

yes, that's substantially more losses than wins

look at 2011
collingwood- 75 point loss
geelong- 79 point loss
you lose to freaking gold coast.
north melbourne- 50 point loss (and north didnt even make the 8)
hawks- 32 point loss
sydney- 62 point loss
fremantle- 62 point loss
north- another 45 point loss
stk- 56 point loss
collingwood- 138 point loss
hawthorn- 165 point loss
you even copped a 60 point thrashing by WBD

so, to show probably some of the best examples- you lost to pies and hawks in 2011 by an average of 103 points. In 2012- by an average of 35. Losing to the saints by nearly 60 in 2011, losing by 2 in 2012. Losing to north by an average of nearly 60, beating north by 2 in 2012 (when north are a stronger team who are currently in the top 8).

that's a huge improvement the PRIMUS made.

you're just being ridiculously 1 eyed. It's fair enough though, probably the only way you can prevent just giving up on a hopeless club, that just routed one of the only men making any substantial difference.

The Great Divine Buddha (aka Whiskas), once did quote "A jug fills drop by drop" - perhaps it may be time for their cup to runneth over, plenty of drips around at  Alberton  :P

PowerBug

Yeah Zip, I've said that every time someone's asked me about Primus. We haven't lost by over 10 goals all season (Until sunday)

And you have a fact wrong there. We beat St. Kilda by 4 points in Rd 1.

KoopKicka

I still dont think we'll lose by over 10 goals PB, if Bobby can shut down Rioli I cant see it happening.

If Rioli had stayed on for the whole game you would have lost by 15+  :P

I have relatives who are proud Port people, they will support them to the grave....but the way Port are playing it just doesn't attract the next generation of supporter, their demise will be slow and painful for the faithful if this keeps up.

Well he did say Bobby, and Bobby didn't play. ;)

I thought it was a pretty solid effort by us today, in teh game until midway through the 4th, then they kicked away. :( Won 2 quarters, but still our biggest defeat for the year. :( Improved by alot from last year, as vaguely shown by my DP as i lost the bet with a 10 goal line. :(
