well I think so, I believe there is enough young talent to work with but the skills atm are deplorable! This has to be Primus's fauls and so he can't continue if he can't get his highly talented players to kick, or encourage them to take risks, play-on and kick long.
Give it up Matty your team and players aren't improving and your not the man to dig the team out either! I really don't know who they are going to get but, someone who can teach these players some skills, like kicking! and get rid of McCarthy asap, sorry mate, can't kick can't play!

Edit: sorry, had to edit that second paragraph as there was a problem in posting, had to reset the internet

If its the skills that are the problem its not Primus who's the issue .....

At the last Showdown we cheered when McArthy got the ball, his ineffectiveness with the non pressured disposal was like having a 19th man on the field for the Crows, turnover king.

Whoever recruited McArthy to Port must be related - Buckley dodged a bullet with not having to have him around his squad.

Josh Francou to be the new coach  ;)

I think it does come down to the Coach, its his job to teach the skills to the players, otherwise your saying they have got the recruiting wrong. But I don't think this is the case
Trengove, Hartlett, Wingard, Butcher, Gray are all top youngsters. Young, Jonas, Lobbe, Redden, Moore, Broadbent, Jacobs, Cam O'Shea all shown  enough. And Boaky
Also Schults and Brad Ebert have been fantastic coups for Port! recruiting is not the problem its the game plan and skills coaching thats the problem!

it's not the coaches fault if the skills of the players are bad, that just means the players are bad. I  seriously don't see how you can blame primus for port not being able to kick for shower.

heres the basic deal- sheedys an amazing coach, and honestly his tactics, knowledge and gameplans are probably one of the best in the league, which bot ha product of his 1000 games, and the cause of them. The reason why the giants have been losing this season is because they're less experienced, and dont have as developed bodies as the rest of the competition, and despite their skills and talent, which have been highlighted by impressive efforts against teams like collingwood, tying with geelong at quarter and half time etc, playing teams with both skill, experience and the bodies to go with it is too much, even if sheedy has a superior game plan.

But against port... primus' plan might have been decent, it might have even outweighed sheedys, who knows. You guys have the experience and the bodies, but the fact is, your players dont have the skills or the talent.

that's what it comes down to. You're unlucky to be failing atm with 2 new clubs, but honestly the next half decade is going to be bad for port.

it's not the skills. These guys have made it to an afl level cause they've been shown how to kick a ball for years. You cut back on endurance and strength training and you're just going to get run over in another way (that's why the giants lose most weeks, a lack of strength and fitness).

your players just aren't good enough- don't blame primus.

that's all.

Sheedy had flower all to do with the breakdown of Port's gameplay today, it was Chocco Williams in total control and calling all the shots.

After watching last nights Cats v Hawks game do yo think Boak might just have put the pen back in his pocket..... :-\

20th man Roost. ;) The crows have 40'000 19th men. :P

Blame the players, not the coach.

Scotty Burns is my monty for the job but with Port's limited money and resources - poorly presided over by Brett Duncanson (he has to go) - they will not be able to afford Malthouse or Roos or another big-name coach

Matty Knights maybe? He would be desperate for a job back in the AFL; has been doing great as a VFL coach
