Not a saints or pies supporter, but disgusted in the way the umpires were tonight. The last call in particular, that umpire cost saints the game and possible all chances of a final campaign. I believe that the afl need to come out and apologise for the decision as it was clear there was no chopping of the arms. And as well as an apology, the umpire should be dropped to the vfl. This is exactly how the umpires are ruining our great game.

A draw wasn't going to help them anyway, but you are right that that was not a free  kick. Should have been a mark though.

tbagrocks

well Buckley nearly lost it with his ridiculous tactic of playing Swan forward, every time Swan "rests" forward the Pies seem to struggle

TheMailman

Milne didn't give away a free a chopping the arms.

He made no contact with the ball whatsoever, wasn't even close.

Making contact with the player in that position is always a free kick. Players pretend to be going for the ball but really just want a 1vs1 contest.

Summary, umpires didn't lose the game for the Saints. The Saints did

Yeah in general Collingwood got up once again cause of their 19th, 20th and 21st men.

Fireballz

I thought it was a free kick. Milne took his eyes off the ball and went for the man. Made contact to his armpit which was really minimal but once you take your eyes off the ball you're going to struggle...
Saints had so many wasted opportunities and Pies had some missed chances too (Jamie Elliott what were you doing?). Saints lost because they made more mistakes.

TheMailman

Yeah what was Ben Mcevoy doing chipping it into the centre with 10 seconds to go?

Fireballz

And why didn't the umpire let Gram take the kick from where he marked it? 60m after the siren for the draw, Gram has a mean kick on him... would have been interesting?
