I started the thread to get opinions, but ended up going with my gut feeling anyway. Lucks been on my side when going with my gut. Ranked 350th and climbing!

Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I ask people what I should do, but I have a favored option, and i normally go with it anyways. You can ask for opinions, but even if they lean one way, you can still go the other way. Or you could get convinced by some people, to change your mind.
