Goddard is crap but everyone will continue to tell you all pre season that you are stupid not to have him. I wonder if those same spuds will say the same thing next year.

He got 76 in a 'bad' game and averages higher than most other defenders this year. If you look at his scores he's actually been quite consistent imo.

Goddard and Cloke close to locks in my team next year. Im pretty sure goddard is still a top 7 back and any back who can average 90+ each season is good enough for me. At worst he is a solid 90 average and he is always a chance to go bang and pump up his average. for me goddard is no risk and possiblity of reward.

I dont know but I some how did not have him at the start of the year and my backs have been my last area to fix and still do not have him. So should I feel happy. Well I've missed the 6th best defender's average. Although have the other top 5 defenders at this stage so am OK with not having Goddard and even do not fear him when I'm up against him in league matches. I still think he is worth picking up and may well get him in the coming weeks.

You seem to have a much more positive outlook on other players:

He is in a poor patch. Stevie J had one. Chappy is in one. Ablett had one. Let's just wait till years end before we get to excited. Maybe it is Stanton owners who will get the last laugh.

Goddard may be doing bad by his standards and our expectations, but he is still in the top7 defenders. Nothing will change next year.

I agree that he has never been the same since the GF but at the end of the day you want the top 7 defenders in your backline and Goddard still falls into that category.
