Help with trades?

Can anyone help with suggestions for my team. My goal is to win 2 of my cash leagues im playing in and preference is to have 8 trades for finals. I currently have 8 trades left with only $50,500 cash remaining however winning this weekend should give me a top 4 finish.



My backline is my weakest line. Looking at two trades possibly. My options for trades are below:

C.Smith --> Couch (dp link to fwd)
C.Smith --> Miles (scored over 200 dt points in the seconds on the weekend, good emergency cover? but no dp)
Hall --> Couch (no dp to mids)

Hargrave --> Scotland or
Broughton --> Scotland

or no trades & upgrade 1st week of finals in case players i bring in get injured in the next few weeks.


If I go with two trades I will need to also avoid trading until finals time and hopefully win the 1st week so dont have to trade in 2nd week

Any suggestions or other ideas?

Do Smith to Couch. Adams is out this week, so you will be left relying on Hall :(

Hargrave to Scotland of the back options, but don't rush. Your bench cover is good, so might be worth waiting it out and seeing who comes back in next week.

8 trades left at this stage of the year is still quite good so ideally i think u can affort 3 of them. Your main Problem is your back and the main issue there is getting rid of hargrave. I think Clay Smith to Couch is good, and opens ur your MID/FWD dpp link, then upgrading Hargrave to Scotland whick leaves u about 80k and hopefully next week u can go Giles to McEvoy which will just about complete your team and still leave u with 5 trades left for finals which is perfect.

play ellis in broughton's absence this week and keep doing that until broughts comes back, but if he doesnt then id probably trade him to the other of scotland/birchall.

I'd do Smith to Couch as you can use that fwd link to save a donut in finals. I'd downgrade Ellis to McInnes from Carlton as well.
Then next week see if you can upgrade Broughton (to Scotland) and Hmac (Maric) or Hargrave (Birchall).

any reason for hanging on to Hmac? downgrading him makes you 300k!

BANG! Didnt see Hmac there. Dont wait for him, Go Hmac straight to Maric. Leave Giles as 3rd ruck. Or as Masedog said play Ellis in Broughtons spot until he comes back but if he doesnt use the remaining cash to upgrade him instead of Hmac.

Leaning towards C.Smith to Couch for now and think about the 2nd trade tomorrow.

Reason I have kept hmac is Giles has been my cover for me except last round but i felt i could still win my games with a donut from him last weekend, Maric late withdrawal also helped.

I have some concerns with Maric latest injury so happy to wait and see first before pulling the trigger. Hmac is due back in 1-2 weeks & i feel i can save a trade if that is the case by keeping hmac for dt finals, he should score as well as some of the other ruckman north also have a decent draw for the last 2 weeks of dt finals.  Maric is the only other ruck i'll consider trading for him.

If richmond don't look making the finals in a couple weeks wouldn't be surprised if Maric is rested earlier or sent for surgery in preparation for next season. Melbourne have started already,carlton have sent a couple players to surgery and we will probably see more players from other teams in the next few weeks.

Yeh just wait and see how big Ivan goes this weekend? Still dont think there's mch wrong with him at all but i gues wait and see this weekend
