Assuming you can afford the following trades, this is how I think you should look at it:

Ellis (52.7) --> Shaw (101.9) = +49.2 points / match
McDonald (73.2) --> Swan (125.1) = +51.9 points / match
Treloar (75.6) --> Beams (112.0) = + 36.4 points / match

In which case the answer is midfield and bring in Swan.

If you cannot afford the above trades, then use the same rules but with the best players you can afford to trade in.
