First timer

Hey Guys

First year doing supercoach. Have def learnt a lot so far, started out with a very poor team but I think I've corrected it pretty well so far. Any suggestions for up or downgrades would be great. I have 8 trades left and $175k in the bank

B: Goddard, Waters, Grimes, Marty Clarke, Goldsack, Dempsey, Sam Shaw
M: Watson, Selwood, Cotchin, Pendlebury, Priddis, S Gibson
R: Hale, Kruezer
F: Franklin, Tippett, Dustin Martin, Darling, Porplyzia, Zorko, Patton

Bench: Smedts, Bootsma, Kavanagh, Woodward, Redden, Stephenson, Dell'Olio, Dick

Sitting 11th, wouldn't mind making the finals just for bragging rights. But struggling a bit at the moment

pretty tough for you imo. to upgrade your rookies need to be playing and making money which a lot of them arent.. the only real cash generation you have right now is downgrading either redden or stephenson to tom campbell in the coming weeks. i would then be upgrading your defence or the midfield. see who you can get in for bootsma/smedts as their js is pretty shaky.. most teams will now have six gun mids though and that is an area which you will want to beef up soon.. may have to make the call on a few of your bench rookies and trade them out for playing regulars. morabito, clifton in the midfield, whiley in defence, campbell in rucks?

Yeah when I picked at the start of the year I did a very bad job on picking bench players. Although essendon did say that kavanagh would be getting games this year, but doesn't look like that will happen.

I am assuming you made the same mistake as I made in my first year (this is only 3rd year playing) did a lot of sideways trading without thinking using up trades rather than building the team by downgrading and upgrading.  Need to ensure rookies are getting games and if not get them out ASAP.
As Felsty says there are not a lot of opions for you to generate cash for upgrades and he has given you suggestions.. Would also be tempted to downgrade Clarke to Whiley for cash and upgrade Smedts or Bootsma to a defender. That and a ruck downgrade should give you some cash to upgarde elsewhere.

Yep others above have said it well. Key for next season is to get $ in the bank and to keep upgrading the value of your team. You've got a good amount of trades left so if you can squeeze into finals you'll give it a shake!
