QuoteAt the half-way point of Fremantle’s season, should it be unreasonable to consider Ryan Crowley a chance to win this year’s Doig Medal or even, wait for it, All-Australian selection?

All-Australian selection?

yes

valkorum

I would have it the other way round Cic

Chance to win the Doing - Yes (prob close with M Johnson)
Chance to be AA - No (they dont pick taggers)

CrowsFan

That's what cic said valk.

The question was "should it be unreasonable to consider Ryan Crowley a chance to win this year’s Doig Medal?", and Cic answered no it is not unreasonable to consider him a chance to win it.

Then the second was is it unreasonable to consider him a chance for AA selection and he said yes it was.

I really hope not. I honestly thing there are some teams Crowley wouldn't be in the best 22, let alone the All-Australian final 22.

I respect him as a tagger though...

valkorum

Oops - I read it wrong.  Sorry Cic.  Thanks for picking that one up CF

Ossie - I think Crowley (as a tagger) would be first 22 in most teams.  He has stepped up a notch this year as a tagger and has to be close to the best in the game today

PowerBug

Why shouldn't the games No. 1 tagger get a spot in the AA team?? Whether it's Crowley or not i don't know. But a tagger is part of nearly every side, so why not the AA side??

valkorum

They have never ever ever picked a tagger.  Top 2 taggers are surely Crowly and Jones

They should do for sure. Ling made all aus once, did kirk?

I think Crowley does his job terrific, I just don't think some teams would select a tagger who maybe struggles to get the ball.himself

He is averaging 16 possessions a game.  That's actually pretty good considering he is out there playing purely a negating role.

I don't like taggers, or Crowley for that matter but I'll admit he's having a good season :)
