David Hill is very cheap and i am just thinking if i should get him if you could tell me if i should get him or not that would be great

I am considering it very seriously. If he plays round one I will pick him. I know he will be underdone, and the injury is a bit of a worry, but at $250k he will free up so much cash for other areas. I'm going for Cox and Hille. If Hille is not ready by rd 1, I'll be going for Kruezer which will cost me an extra $175k, and significantly reduce the quality of my forward line. I'm also looking at Seaby for around $300k, as I think there is a possibility he could average a career high in 2010 if he gets the nod as number 1 ruckman ahead of Mumford which he should. However, if the new rule everyone is talking about regarding dual-position players comes into effect in supercoach, then I will probably be looking for a ruck/forward like Brennan, Kruezer, Tippet. Will be very interesting

Great reply thankyou i think i will so the same as you i guess

At his price, he's close to locked in for me.
If he's playing round 1, he pretty well is a must have. Just ridiculously cheap for what he can produce.
If he isn't playing round 1 and doesn't look like playing for a while, then he's not worth it.
If he isn't playing round 1, but looks to be only a week or 2 away, you could get a Charman or a Warnock to fill in for those couple weeks and bench him for that time.
I usually intend to go with a 0 or 1 trade ruck strategy. I reckon he's good enough to keep as a second ruckman as long as he's going to be healthy. So by getting Charman/Warnock on the bench, I'd hopefully have coverage for him for the most part.
I wouldn't get Hille, then 2 rookies though. He's bound to miss games during the season, so will need some sort of coverage.

Hendo had a great reply. Even then, nobody on here should go for a 2 rookie ruck bench. IF he plays, he is well worth that price.

i dont think they will play hille round 1, i think theyd rather play an unfit laycock less to lose if he goes down.

also hes 110kg+ coming back from ACL i cant see them using him as a number 1 ruckman until after hes played 10+ games, and he may well spend most of his resting time on the bench. which could be up around 50-70minutes in his first few games(some of that will be forward i guess)

Guys and girls i hate to say it but being a likely starter from round one in my opinion would be rush, i hope he is as i am an avid bomber fan however if he does start round one i would say he would be a bit self concious of his knee and that could hinder his SC scores (eg he might not be as risky with his marks and tackles) factor that with match fitness before you jump on him

Trav0

looking more like No everyday!! i definately cant see him playing round 1 now after his knee swelled up in the practice match

Blueboys

I would only have him with a good back up on the bench. I feel if he is even a chance of not playing or looks too under down then pick another player for sure so you save on donut and trades...

ronl

It depends on who you believe...Matthew Knights has a mancrush on him and thinks he will dominate one and all...while Monty's insider at Essendon says he was screaming in pain during the interclub...the truth probably lies somewhere in between.

ando_10

yes apparently performed well in intra club along with gumbleton

anyone who's torn an ACL will be staying away from someone fresh off it like hille
tall, lumbering, not agile, jumping, planting etc etc = recipe for disaster

i cringe at the replay - i've torn each of mine!

even hunt's a bit of a risk
