PORT Adelaide midfielder Travis Boak will consult a specialist on Monday as he contemplates surgery for an ongoing foot complaint.

The Power vice-captain has been playing with plantar fasciitis, and the club says it will consider putting Boak in for surgery, which would sideline him for three to four weeks.

Having surgery now would give him a chance of returning for the round 14 match with Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

The club will give an update later on Monday once a decision has been made.
